Drop rate of Dyes

I've found 3 silver dyes, a black dye, a blue dye and a purple dye in less than 5 hours... pre-searing!!!

Anyone else have seen that the drop rate of rare dyes as increased this weekend?

MAYBE... I have found quite a few dyes the last couple of days.

Pre-searing dye drops have always been higher than the rest of the game, though, so you can't judge by your experience alone.

yes, in pre-searing i found lots of silver dyes also.

dye drops in pre-sear are pretty common

The only thing i noticed so far is the thing that Dye Drops are very unbalanced for me. It is kinda ridiculous to get the drops as following:


02 Red
01 Blue
19 Silver
00 Black
00 Purple
05 Yellow
04 Green
etc

The game is mocking me

that's about 11 plat in silver dye alone...how is the game mocking you?

i get a lot of silver dye in pre-searing than post-searing. so far i've only gotten one black dye drop in post-searing.

Yes clearly the game needs a dye trader for the PvP crowd...

lol well i have over 800 hours playing time and I HVE NEVER GOT A BLACK TO DROP LOL

I think the reason dye drops are high in pre searing is that there are no purple or gold drops in pre sear and that all drops that were suppose to be rare drops are instead dyes

There are purples drops in pre-sear...I've never gotten a Gold pre-sear but it wouldn't surprise me if someone else has

Nor sure how many hours I have in over all my characters but I've never sold or used a dye. Currently I have in 56 storage:

11 - Green
09 - Orange
09 - Silver
08 - Red
06 - Purple
05 - Yellow
05 - Blue
03 - Black

No real idea how much of it was pre- and post-searing except I know all of black was post-searing. I didn't get any black until all my PvEs were post-searing. Only one I saw drop pre-searing went to my hunting companion on a expedition north of the wall. That was close to release and he sold it for about 1.5k after we got to Old Ascalon.

i average maybe 2-3 dyes per hour but only 1 black in the bunch

today in 1 hour i got a

purple
blue
green

but silver is the biggest dropper for me

also 3 steel and 2 inventories worth of pickup junk

p.s. your buddy sold the black dye for less than half what it's worth

Less than half what it's worth now, yes. If he'd held on to it a week or two he'd have gotten a better price but at the time it was in line with what the dye trader was selling it for.

Hmm..........The game mocks me. On my main character, the only type of dye I ever got for two weeks was orange........GAH!

I have noticed an increase in Dye drops as well. Helping a guildie in post searing ascalon last night i got 8 black dye drops in a row. Im not talking 8 over entire map ended up 14 over entire map. I am talking the first 8 monsters I dropped for her dropped black dye. I think A-Net is trying to drop the prices of Dye by increasing the drop rate. Just my 2 cents
