There is no "best". You have to decide what way you prefer and what tasks you wish to accomplish with your character. Then decide what skills to use to impliment that course of action.

OK first off, welcome! It's always nice to see new faces.

This is a great place for the discussion of everything Guild Wars.

One of the functions that this forum has is a "search" function that allows you to search through all of the threads looking for keywords. In this instance, search for something like "ranger secondary" and stuff like that.

And to answer your question...

There is no "best" combo. That's what makes Guild Wars such a great game. It basically comes down to personal preference, and my favorite Ranger secondary is Elementalist (well actually I like playing melee ranger/warriors, but I'm guessing you want to use a bow ).

Enjoy your stay...

last bwe i played a ranger mesmer, in the arena my main goal was to kill casters, I could use a skill like read the winds and then combine it with hunters shot or another fast cast and fast recharge markmanship attack, and then i had a few spells that disrupt a person casting a spell and deal some damage to them, or you could bring some spells that steal energy from casters also

According to some high level nut cases in this forum that actuall most of the time is right - a very good start / good combo for your Ranger is :

Tigers Fury, Power shot - You then attack once every 1.33 seconds which is what I standard Warriors attack rate is - so a good start. This assuming you have a 2.0 secs bow which you can find
here and then just pile on with whatever you would like after that.

In PVE - almost no way to go wrong. You are off to a good start with choosing these two skills. Then choose your secondary. If you would like a ranger that relies on a monk for healing and just dishes out damage try R/E and R/Me. If you would like to be self sufficent go Ranger / Monk

Welcome to our forums. A lot of good reading under guides and such.

Watch out for Ensign and Saus - they all lie...constantly...
