I Cannot Stand The Scammers And Bots That Really Messed Up A Fun Enjoyful Game Now It Just Sucks

the main thing that bugs me is im a warrior and i want to buy the best sword possable with this farming crap now i cannot and prob never will be able to buy one and that sucks

bottom line farming sucks now

even if i find items they suck

on top of that runes used to be worth alot more now thanks to rune shops

a sup vigor went from 100k to 50k or less

this sucks

and swords are now so much most people cannot get them

plus scammers seem to be millionaires!

and im still broke this ant fair

bottom line farming sucks.

and only cuz greedy farmers and bots made this happen.

I've been farming for a week lazily and my returns are excellent :P

First off, not to be an english nazi so to speak, every one of those words does not need to be capitalized.

Second off, you can still find good items, I personallyd o not see the point in finding tons and tons of 'good' items that are 'worth alot' because gold and items, unless you need them to FIGHT with, are worth nothing in my eyes. Unless I want to buy a very expensive rune, I do not need tons of gold to enjoy this game.

Try and chill and have fun, forget about farming for awhile and enjoy the game as-is. Change is coming, have a little faith in ANet.

I like to just do quests and missions

Sometimes I help other people on quests and missions

Depending on my location I get lots of good drops

I usually don't get good drops on missions, but just on quests

There are some places that are great to farm if you're not greedy

Running the Ring of Fire island chain missions will net you a lot of gold

Don't be greedy and you can still farm for lots of stuff

because there were excellent farming spots when the game was released tons of awsome items are in the economy.
now because of the lack of good farming locations its pretty hard to get items to match that so you can trade or sell yours and buy theirs...

this DOES suck

is it really that hard to make money, or get good items?
i NEVER farm, and so far ive made at least 85-100k gold, maybe more, through out the game
i almost never even bother selling to other players, when i get an item that can sell for alot, i usually give it away to someone in my guild
so most of that was made from selling to npcs

I've earned 80k this past week just by selling off excess unided runes that I already have unlocked and a few decent weapon mods. I know of 2 spots to farm for decent gains at the moment and while one is sure to get nerfed as it is very widely known I'm pretty sure there are many others if you bother to look for them.

If it takes you a bunch of hours to find some super rare awesome weapon mod, you can charge a fortune and people will pay. There are plenty of ways to make gold; I just wish the rune selling prices were higher

I used to farm solo, with my kick butt e/mo
On the griffons that were blessed.
But now enchants they shatter, and knockdowns do matter,
that it's more difficult, I confess.

However alone I can cope, for there is still hope,
They only remove them singly.

The DP makes me feel tingly. (Yay protective spirit)

Except with two, it's like tying a shoe,
And we split the loot in half.

To clarify, what I meant was despite nerfs to farming, even soloing isn't too much more difficult for me alone. Of course, that's also because I use Protective Spirit and have high energy storage, so the health penalty is actually a GOOD thing, and the energy penalty doesn't matter.
However, farming with one other person and things go a lot more smoothly. We help keep each other alive, kill faster, and the drops and experience are still good. Yes, everything is halved, but that's really a non-issue for me. More reliable killing, and hey, it's a lot more fun with someone else. Together, though, what we can do that I can't alone, we can clear out the entire map. Healing Seed and Protective Spirit to handle the knockdowns until spamming spells is viable.
The exp from fighting that HUGE group of trolls is definitely worth it. You can end up fighting somewhere up to 15 of them at once sometimes, and with the right enchants, they're manageable.

In other words, it's perfectly viable to farm still, you just need the right build for it, or more than 1 person, but not so many that it's prohibitive. Even with another, you'll still need to pack the appropriate skills, it's just easier when you don't have to do EVERYTHING alone.
For farming experience, the new scrolls were obviously intended to encourage partying since they increase the entire party's gain. Bring enough people to kill quickly, but not so many that the exp isn't worth it and you're good.

Berserker's Insight looks good for a larger party, but the walking time between some mobs could make it not worth it. 6 people would get as much exp as a 2 person party.

And yes, I do parties for a fee. Birthday, Christmas, Anniversary, First Cavity, all made better by poorly written verse

If you're not an elementalist monk or something who can kill mass groups right outside town and get loads of loot you're screwed when it comes to farming. They will always have more money than you, they will always have better stuff than you, etc. It takes other classes, say a necro, mesmer, or ranger, twice, or even 3 times as long to go out and get money. So you're always screwed. The only ways you can really get money then are to either do UW/Fissure over and over again (which can be pretty damn profitable...but boring as heck and really repetitive), head to THE LOST STRONGBOX, over and over again, or fight your way to the HoH, maybe win, and maybe get a sigil to sell for some gold. Other than that...you're screwed.

It's a shame when all there's left to do is farm for gold, and even that doesn't work. So we all god do UW/Fissure, over and over again while putting up with people who drop constantly and/or get your entire party killed.

Now of course, if you want nothing more than to play the game then by all means, money is of little use. But for those who've exhausted PvP and PvE, they've nothing left really but to get money and maybe go for that fissure armor. Meh...

and for easy results use meteor shower...

against ettins anyway (which is what i farm when the need arises)... ward against melee -> metoeor shower -> fire storm -> healing breeze -> meteor -> teh win or more healing while fire storm kills them.

Yes I have noticed that farming has become less effective and Anet has made sure of that. Although I have to say that you dont need farming to have enough gold to enjoy this game. You wont be able to buy expensive things but you can still enjoy the game.....

i farmed in pre .. like alot of others, now i just do missions ansd quests, maybe some farming here there... yesterday i got alot of purple stuff, weapons, rune, so a tad unusual for me since i never got it. Saw my second silver dye drop, ...but this is my first time playing a mmorpg so i am having alot of fun.

From what I understand of the anti-farming code, it's best to farm once or twice a day, because if you repeatedly do the area the drops continue to get worse. I am at the desert area and I would clear some of the easy spots, ie various spots where only one type of monster spawns so a particular build can easily win (i.e. hydras, griffons, lorasu (certain groups), minotaurs, etc) before going on a quest/mission. Every bit of gold counts and eventually I'll get my hands on that superior vigor and superior absorption...

Farming? Pfft.

Farming-scharming.

I, for one, am indeed case sensitive.

I farm once in a week or maybe twice a week and sometime i got dye, minor runes, and sometime blue weapons. Most of the time, i take all the items i got, and sell it for golds. Currently i got 1 Pla waiting in my account

Farming is still good in certain areas. Granted it's not like it use to be but it can still be good. I noticed that if you enter a location that you don't enter frequently you seem to get some great drops for a short while and then it flattens out but good item's still do drop on occasion. I don't farm for gold but I do farm to unlock item's and to gain XP for skill unlock's. Hopefully it won't be necessary once the new patch is out.

i got a double silver dye drop today

i would have done a screenshot but i didnt notice both in the pile of loot until i checked the inventory on what i had gotten and went OMG

i solo and get about 1-2 dyes per hour along with 3-6 steel salvages and 2 inventories of white and blue junk which sell for about 1 -1.5 plat per hour

or i can get about 3-5 fur squares per hour from the trader

this is after expert salvage and id kit expences

I'm still trying to figure out why they nerfed farming. I went straight through the game, stopping only outside of Beacon's Perch to earn exp. I never had a problem crafting the newest armour, and now the only reason I need extra loot is to buy the FoW armour. And as is my understanding, it strictly for the purposes of looks. As far as runes are concerned, superiors are only a few platinum at most (at least the ones I need to buy which I have already), and the superior vigor is hardly worth the price IMO (20 extra HP than the minor for a fraction of the price).

So basically... they nerfed farming because they don't want everyone to look cool? Wow...

Stoy crying!!! If farming wasn't nerfed, then everyone could afford the weapon of the "rarest/best" model (fellblade, crystal sword, storm bow, magmas shield ...) within a week. PvE will be over. Now that farming is nerfed so bad, very very few rare weapons or items are found. As a result, you can keep on PvEing and dream one day you will get the weapon you've always wanted.
