This seems a bit unfair to me to suddenly see the Guild Wars CE go from 59.99 on the Best Buy site, to 79.99, I realize its the usual Retail price, but why post it up at that price if they were not going to have it at that at the release?

I've already preordered it from there because the price was abit cheaper than the rest of the places I saw...

Hrm... This is just a little annoying, but oh well, its Guild Wars, more annoyed at Best Buy than at GW or anything, it perturbs me they changed the price on it...

Well, at GameStop, the cashier asked me if I would like to pay the entire pre-order price upfront, which I did. I didn't buy the CE, but maybe if you payed for it all upfront you wouldnt have to dish out the extra $30.

My BF preordered, they didn't ask which he wanted, but what about all those online who preordered and paid upfront? It isn't fair to me, this is an issue with how they priced it up front then changed the price like this.

I'm still getting it, but I'm not going to be pleased about the extra thirty bucks I'm shelling out, I need to save it up and I want the CE...

This is very aggrevating, unless of course this is a cause of the company informing BestBuy of the proper price or something...

Sorry to gripe you guys, but it seems very unfair with it so close to release...

If only I had saved the page, printed it out.

EDIT: I checked the Pre-order option on www.bestbuy.com, and it said the total was 79.99, meaning you would pay it all at once, SO, anyone who ordered it off of there before they recently changed the price twenty bucks more, got it for 59.99. Which, I love Guild wars, and shopped around online to find the nearest place to get mine, and Best Buy was it, with a price lower than everywhere else, which suprised me. Hrm, I shoulda known it was too good to be true, it was JUST before the March BWE, I got my proper key on Saturday of the BWE, my BF had sent it on Thursday afternoon to me, so between then and now they changed the price.

Chances are NCSoft hadn't given an RRP when Best Buy listed the Collector's Edition. Hell, it could have been listed a few months ago, back when a Collector's Edition wasn't even officially announced. It's really not the retailer's fault, they just took a guesstimate on the price and got it wrong. Happens more often that you'd think.

And before someone chips in with "They shouldn't have listed until they were 100% certain on the RRP," that would have meant people whinging that Best Buy didn't have the Collector's Edition up for pre-order. Lose-lose.

They had had the Collectors Boxset, with a picture, since a bit before the day he got the pre-order. Meh, at least they didn't jack it up fourty more, then I would have something to really gripe about.

Lucky little devils who pre-ordered when it was that price, heh, I wasn't going to risk having it shipped to me and get here too late, as is Its going to be sent to me anyway, but I know where its coming from this time...

Darn retailers, the price had been estimated on sites all over, they sure get a little over-zealous you think? Sort of like reporting a cloth map of the GW world will be coming with the set, but won't be, just a happy rumor that got around. Kind of funny, but kind of not...

Oh well, I"ll get my use out of it, its free so twenty bucks more is just fine and dandy, just perturbed at BB atm. Sorry to complain guys, I love GW and never want to see it pay-to-play like NWN, WoW or EQ/EQ2. Free MMORPG-like games are hard to find nowadays that are this good...

I hope it will stay thsi way, I really do.

as far as i knew, the CE was 80 bucks to begin with everywhere i looked.

its not ncsofts fault at all, you can blame the retailers.

As far as i know Best Buy does not have pre-orders for retail and CE they only have the $10 box for retail. I know because I got one. I do not know if that means they will take the $10 off CE. Hope I am wrong though.

Adaria, are you sure they've actually charged those customers who paid the full price up front? Because I originally ordered on-line from Best Buy, then cancelled my order. When I checked my credit card statement, they had NEVER charged my card.

Usually with pre-orders (or any order for that matter) on-line retailers will not charge your card until they pull and ship the order. So it won't make any difference for those "lucky" customers because by the time their cards get charged the price will have gone up, too. They'll just be irrate...
