What's Considered a "Spell"?

For Channeling [ Hex ] - For 40 seconds, whenever you cast a spell, you steal 1 Energy from each nearby foe.
Would a hex be considered a spell, one such as Malaise?

Yes. It's pretty easy to recognize a spell... Pretty much every skill a Mesmer/Necromancer/Elementalist has is a spell.

k, thnx. the only thing that confused me was some of them actually said "spell" and some said hex, enchantment, etc.
