I was reading on the main page the description for warriors and the weapon skills. I thought you downplayed one of the BIG advantages to using a sword. True they are only slightly faster than an axe and have lower criticals and a narrower range of damage.
But swords cause "bleeding" and fighters have skills which increase bleeding. This adds an interesting element to gameplay and especially at low levels its VERY usefull. A fighters first attack may be -8, then sever artery and your doing -17, use gash and your doing -31 to -48. If you plot damage amount over time hammers and axes are linear with 1:1 damage modifiers each time an ability is used. Provided the creature can bleed, sword damage is exponential.
