And the collector update was a very good idea.

I was hoping for something for us to spend our money on. Maybe fireworks or personal farming land while you pay your taxes and harvest the crops.

Ho Hum.. PvPer's should be very happy though

A few notes on this update.

The /age command has been reset for some reason.

It also takes AGES to enter the tombs after the first stage (which has been changed)

they said they updated "ascended" armor...

Does that mean that if I keep my ascalon armor and then ascend it will look different?

If I get someone to rush me to Droknar's will it look different than it will once I ascend?

Syncro emotes. Can you just imagine 30 monks all doing syncronized Kun fu?

I think ascension armor is the 15k from Granite and Marhan's.

Doesn't sound logical. What would the point of mid-level upgrades be then? Why bother with them if you could just get min and max?

This was taken from the info that was released last week concerning this weeks update. There is hope that maybe it will contain some good gold sinks.

One final note: Some of you will wonder if we've forgotten that ascended characters with obsidian armor need challenges too... Don't worry. You're next.

my 15k druids armor STILL looks the same. I think Gaile reads my post about that every update and tells Anet to update that one last!!!!!

IMO they shouldn't have been variable stats in the first place IMO. It just creates a highly inflated market for items that really offer fairly insignificant bonuses.

However, unlocking still goes for pvp only. People who PvE mostly can still show off their 1337 30 hp pommels and stuff and they're gonna be worth just as much. I'd use a 5 defense mod over a 30hp mod anytime.

Added a way for multiple players to more easily synchronize their emote animations. By following your emote command with a space and an asterisk, you indicate your emote should begin on the next 10 second pulse. For example, typing “/dance *” causes your character to wait until the next 10 second pulse to begin dancing. If several players do this before the next pulse, they will all begin dancing simultaneously.
This is the best...update...EVER!!

I can finally organize something I have wanted to do in this game for a long time....get a line up of female Necromancers and dance in sync!

Has anyone else noticed that this update seems to push the CPU more?

Last night I was playing and my CPU barely cracked 43 C. Today, after update, it's pushing 53 C. I knew something was up when the case fans started blowing pretty hard.

The second build that they just released seems to be a bit better - still, what's up with this?

My system specs:

AMD64 3000+
2GB Ram at DDR333
Win XP SP2

lol, that would really piss me off, but i'd get over it this game is to much fun to be gettin pissed off because my armor isn't the "the coolest".

However so far i have not seen A-net back down from any promises that they've made so far. Mmm my nose is so brown, but i don't care

I think I may have seen some of this at Serenity Temple yesterday. I passed through there, and saw several people wearing armor I've never seen before, and also some monks dancing in perfect sync. Guess it was devs or beta-testers.

20 minutes to unlock a skill at level 20 through PvE, 1-2 hours to unlock a skill through PvP, that seems fair.

In case anyone was wondering, I found the new quest in Eastern Frontier

***Spoiler(kinda)***

Right outside the portal to Pockmark Flats. The quest is very easy.

You better not be complaining...
Also, I doubt it would take 1-2 hours if you just did GvG a couple of times.

great, really happy about getting rewarded for pvp but i believe faction awards for random and team arena are too low. i was just part of a random team and we got 98 faction points for 7 wins. 1000 faction points thus require around 70 wins which is a whole lot if you ask me. 70 wins for a minor rune? way too much imho. faction "prices" definitely need to go down. also, why do i get so much less faction points for wins in the low level arenas? i dont believe it should matter what level my character is to gain faction points. i was looking forward to pvping with my lvl 9 monk once the new system is out but its not worth it.

That's because you obviously don't GVG a lot, non hench matches usually go for about 20-40 minutes. If you do the math it's about an hour a skill point.

Now, how are the pve and pvp rewards balanced? Simple answer, they're not.

I guess A-net wants to promote GvG. Also, 98 points for 7 wins isn't bad at all. You should try to prioritize what you need to unlock. Get the easy stuff via PvE and then instead of grinding in PvE to unlock the leftover stuff, you can have fun in PvP instead. Runes can generally be gotten from the rune trader at ridiculously low prices, so you should probably leave the faction points for skill unlocks. It's not that easy to get 20,000 exp in PvE in such a short time.

lets not forget that you get to choose what you unlock, that is something pve doesn't get, we have to just get what was dropped, atleast when that hour or 2 is up you get what you want. You have been given a guranteed way to get the skills and runes that you want. i think making you take some time and skill to get there was a good idea by a-net.

The game just dropped me in the middle of a mission, my connection to the internet was fine. This didn't happen to me before today, got the error=7 again. I think they still need to tweak this patch.

Who said they were supposed to be? 1 unlock every hour of PvP isn't really that slow. If this system had of been in at release, I'd currently have nothing to spend my faction points on. By looking at things, faction based unlocks aren't something that are meant to let you quickly unlock everything starting from scratch. They're there to give you enough unlocks to retool your build quickly should the need arise, max out your weapon mods and runes through natural PvP play, and completely make a new build on a semi-regular basis, probably once a week for a casual player. That feels roughly right to me. Now if you're a wannbe PvE completionist trapped in the body of a PvPer, who must absolutely have everything unlocked asap, obviously you'll whine about the advancement being too slow. But the acquisition rate is fast enough to allow the dynamic retooling of builds that you need to have a level PvP playing field.

Last week they said they would balance it out the rewards with PvE rewards, which, didn't happen.

From a person that was banned for botting like you, this statement is worth less than zero. You didnt want a balanced game from the beginning.

If you think PvE is faster to get non-elite skills, play PvE. I'm sure you can do just fine even without bots. I hope I'm not over-estimating you.

Were you on my team? Haha
Just a few minutes ago, our 7-win streak ended. Some of the matches were long. So yeah, you're right, it will take a very long time to unlock if you go Arena only. Ah well, better than before, and Tombs is better anyway

You think my math is off? Let's see, you say around 20 minutes to unlock a skill in PvE. Let's say that skill is an elite. Let's say it's in Dragon's Lair. Let's also say you don't have a character of that class that is at Dragon's Lair. How long would you say it would take to bring a fresh character up to Dragon's Lair? A few DAYS at least, if you took normal human breaks. Now compare that to the PvP rewards, where you can unlock an elite, let's say with 30 minute GvG battles, MINIMAL of 7.5 hours if you win every match. Let's say your record tends to be around .500. Thats 15 hours. Not including kills, which would be an additional 16 points per battle. Long? Yes, but it's far less what the PvE players went/or will go through. And that's also assuming your at the bottom of the GvG ladder, which I assume most people who are seriously trying to unlock skills with PvP aren't.

The only reason you think PvE players have an advantage is because most of them that PvP have already brought numerous characters up through the game. They just invested time before the patch, and now they get the rewards from that time. If PvP rewards had been released from the start, then it would be anything BUT in favor of PvE players. In a few weeks when all the PvP players have their skills. There will have been no advantage.

They should have PvP unlocks be available in PvE. And no longer having unlocking runes, have those armors turn into unlocks. It'd be a lot more equal that way.

Oh gee but aren't you forgetting? 20 minutes in Dragons Lair is TOO MUCH GRINDING FOR TEH PVP's!!one

First they complain that PvPers shoudnt be forced to play "the pointless PvE game' to become "competetive" now you bitch and whine once Anet does a whole ****ing update for you so you can have your PvP rewards. Who in the hell keeps saying PvPers aren't smug, arrogant, little ingrates? i just don't see it ~_~..

Anyone noticed how this update dosent make too much of a differnce for skills. What kind of update trys to remove the "PvP Grind" by making you get all the way to Droknars to get all the skills anyway?

IMO the upgrade market is going to die, but PvPers still have to go all the way through the game to unlock most skills.

And now how will they get refund points?

Anybody that is allready complaining about the update needs to be ignored simply because it has only been out for about a couple of hours now. For heavens sake people give this system a shot before you bash it. there is no way you can know if it's going to be good or not just because you did some of your own calculations and have convienced yourself that it's going to suck without even trying it out. If after a couple of weeks you still aren't satisfied then yes maybe you have a valid point, but not after only a couple of hours.

Well Droknar's is popular for rushing, so I don't think it should be too hard for them to get there fast. And for refund points, just remake your character. It's not that hard.

Ok ok, I guess you would have to play through the game once. But if you just did all the mission up to Droknar's I don't think it would take too long, especially if you have some high level friends to help, like guild members.
