Seriously, it takes me about 3 minutes to find the picture I'm looking for. And I'm still not understanding this dye remover thing. Will Dye Remove, then [color] dye appear different than just putting [color] dye over what the armor was previously? If anyone can show a pic of that, I'd be grateful.

If you put colour over another one, it will do a mix between the two. Also depends on whether you're covering one dye with another or vice versa, the outcome won't be the same. But if you apply a dye remover first, the colour will be that of only the dye you apply later. That goes for newly crafted armour as well. For instance, aeromancer armour is dyed purple, hydromancer is blue, pyromancer is orange (or red, whatever) etc...

Dye works differently on different professions.
For Elementalist Males you don't need to use Dye Remover. It always replaces what was there before.
However, what Lindesty said about it being dyed when you buy it is true.
All Elementalist Male armour is purple, but when you buy it it may be another colour. Never bother dying it purple, just use dye remover instead.

Before the update it was the 1.5k Aeromancer armour.
Also, I've noticed that the new female Aeromancer gear is the same model as the early female elementalist gear, just with a new skin.

^ yup.. the new aeromancer is same outline as the collectors version.. just different detail and shading and designs.

What's Damask? I suppose a rare crafting material... How much does it usually cost at a rare material's merchant or can it be crafted from other materials?

Bolts of Damask cost 400-500 gold each at the rare material trader, or you can craft them at a crafter outside Droknar's Forge (I think it costs 200 gold +some linen bolts).
I just bought my set today (Wont bother posting a screenshot, look similar to the pic on the first page, I also dyed mine silver and blue, works well)
The best thing about it is the reflections on the front and sides - I don't believe any other ele armor uses those. I've not seen any other people with it yet though (I'm in an European district).
Now all I need is a superior vigor rune, and that's my build completed

A word of advice, don't dye the male one silver, it looks really bad. It just makes the large coloured bit grey, and leaves the lightning purple.

seriously.. iu think male aro in balck looks horrible.. it takes all the detailed lightning out of the vest.(the part that gets dyed on the sides). i think it looks awsome in red.. i would get a pic but im to lazy to go take a screen of my character.
