Todays' new quests
wingedcoyote
Okay, so there's supposed to be two that are in areas I can reach. One was easy to find and complete, the Family Reunion quest from Sardelac. The other, however, is eluding me. It's called Caravan in Trouble, and it's supposed to be in Eastern Frontier now. Has anybody found it?
Also, I got a quest I hadn't seen before from a guy at the Ambassador's place outside Ascalon. It had me go to the Scribe in Ascalon, who sent me out for five pieces of Parchment, and then back to the Scribe and the guy at the ambassador's, for a nice 2,000 exp. Is that a recent addition, or had I just missed it before?

I really don't remember that quest, either. I'll have to check that out.

You just missed it -- it's been there a while.
Spike
I don't remember that mission and I been though ascalon 3 times now and never seen it. Who gives the quest ?
Jia Xu
he's called Symon the Scribe and hes tucked away. Go up the stairs towards northern wall, and once you are up all the stairs turn left (you would turn right to go to Northern Wall) Hold down the alt button and you can't miss the guy.
Dazzler
No. the quest comes from the Ambassador. He tells you to go SEE Symon. Who then tells you to go get him some parchment.
I ran across this one about 2 weeks ago. I think it only becomes activated after you finish the Cities of Ascalon quest, because the ambassador makes mention of the book Symon wrote on the subject I think.
Probably why most ppl (myself included) never found it was that by the time you complete the Cities, quest, you probably don't spend alot of time in the wilderness around Ascalon and thus never noticed the ambassador had a new quest.
I only found it b/c I had switched my secondary class and was in the area looking for profession specific skill-quests.

Mana Garmr
It's Rastin gives you the quest, not the ambassador.
On the subject of the new quests, does your region have to have the favor of the gods to get the one in Sardelac? I heard that you get the quest from an avatar of Dwayna, but there's no-one like that there when I went.

Yes, your region has to have the favor in order to get the Family Ties quest.
And to the original question: The caravan's quest is right by the gate to the Pockmark flats.

Your region must have the favor of the gods to get the Sardelac quest (it is given to you by the Avatar).
The "Caravan in Trouble" quest is a skill-rewarding quest (for anyone who noticed the skill trainer in Yak's Bend had 2 skills that you couldn't get from quests leading up to Yak's Bend this fills in the gap).
You can find the quest in Eastern Frontier at the Eastern Frontier / Pockmark Flats border. You should see Cynn standing there.

Ah, neat! Easy quest, and I'm always glad to unlock more skills.
Good thing I didn't go ahead and buy Hamstring like I was considering!

As mentioned before....this one has been around for a bit. Raistin gives it to you after you complete the Cities Of Ascalon for Symon the Scribe.

I was about to stop moaning and then did the new caravan quest. Jesus Anet give us some credit please we are not 3 year olds. That has to be the shi%^$£st quest ever. They couldnt even space it out pick the quest up at one side of transition pass through the transition and kill small mob on other side to complete
Feck the guards do most of the damage Must have took um all of 2 mins to write that one. And you can do it in under 15 seconds.
And people wonder why us PVE whine

I think the challenge of that quest was actually finding where to get it first
.
Spike
Where do you get the cities of ascalon quest from as I've never seen that one.

And people wonder why us PVE whine Dude, the quest is in Eastern Frontier at the gate to Pockmark Flats. It's for relative newbies.
You or I go back there and do it and it's a cynch, but if you found it at the natural time it might be a little trickier.

Mario 64 Master
As soon as you enter Pre-Searing Ascalon don't you just talk to Tydus and get a free 10 experience and 10 gold, or something? Man, that quest was also way too easy. Does Anet think we're dumb or something? Geez.

Dude I completed game weeks ago. Are you saying shouldnt go back and do them cause im lvl20+ my point is that for a level 20+ who has finished the game. These new quests being introduced should be targated at us who have nothing left to do in PVE, So what do they do
ADD ANOTHER FEW LOW LEVEL QUEST'S????

What's also quite bad is that they are adding quests for skills that were previously unquestable. I have lists of all the classes and where to get the skills, and which are unquestable. Those that I can't get from quests I buy. Now, how is this fair to those of us who do a little research? I'd like my 2 skill points back, this rewards newer players but really hurts older ones who decided to buy the skill. Same w/ the profession changed skills.
Ah well, just a few points. It would be nice of them to give us those back, however no point crying over spilt milk.

ADD ANOTHER FEW LOW LEVEL QUEST'S???? They're planning to add two whole new areas in, and you're bitching about two quests? Yeesh. Just because they don't do what you want doesn't mean that they're not doing what others want.

IIRC, Anet also added 2 new quests to the Fissure which should be more up to your speed?

Adding new quests to an area where you'll need to be max level just to survive...
Unless they give other rewards besides exp it just doesn't seem worth it. Getting that 5,000 from the first UW quest is already easy enough to run a few times to get those extra skill points.
New areas will at least be a change of scenary.

For those that want a screenshot on location.
Ignore the red path going in a circle, that was me running the wrong way for the other quest. New quest is at (player) marker.
