Ok I thought you could use .tk domains like a regular website and edit it and everything. So I went on their site and signed up for one and the only use I can find it does is redirect to a certain link you type in. Did I do something wrong on my registration or does it not do that anymore?

It sounds like you didn't read everything through before you acquired your domain. The whole purpose of your domain is that it's easier to type in and remember www.whatever.tk than something like http://www.geocities.com/abc123/index.html.
