Can I use these "Faction Items" on an already created character?

Let's say I use my PvP-only Monk to earn 1,000 points, and then I use them to get a staff head. Can the Monk I already created use the staff head? How?

Seems like a "no". Not a big deal, though, as PvP characters can be recreated in the bat of an eye.

But experience IS lost.

AS A WORK-AROUND...

Create a PvP char with the upgraded staff, store it, and get it with the older character.

EXP is no longer gained by PvP characters. (There being no point in it to begin with)

Actually the exp does indeed do something... which is the refund attribute point... but not that it matter to high, as we can just recreate the character... but it would still be that extra 1 minute =P

PS: you can't salvage pvp character items.

I would hate to seem cruel, but I think this is the wrong forum.

I was really phsyched about this whole "faction point" thing. I rarely play PvP as I never found much of a point to it (there was no real end-reward other than "winning"). Upon first reading about this feature I was like "cool! a way to get these hard to find weapon upgrades and elite skills other than farming or boss hunting". I fought a WHOLE bunch and went to cash in my faction points....and find out that they ONLY apply to PvP only characters.

Seriously, that's a total rip off. Any reason I've had to play PvP has been thrown out the window now. I don't want to get this stuff for a disposable PvP character. I want it for the characters that I actively play. I'm very surprised that they limited this feature in this way.

I do think it's weird that they don't actually give you the items you "earn". I can't see the harm in it, and I actually suspect that most PvP players are also at least partially PvE players.

have you try your work around? If soo I don't think it works.

- Unlock item give you the chance to have it on pvp char when you create it.
- They are customized for a specific character

So you can't trade them with another char, sorry!

So when you unlock an item using faction points....you actually get the item in your inventory?
I've not yet got 1000 points so i haven't done it yet.

no, you DO NOT GET THE ITEM. you ONLY unluck it for creating pvp characters.

Thankyou. Not very good for PvE players then i think.

Selling 670 faction points, lol.

Ha! If you could sell faction points, I wonder how much gold would cost relative to faction points.

There's an infinite amount of both, but probably a lot more gold out there than faction points, even after a few more months.

If you don't PvP, then you don't need the rewards... you can still earn them the old fashioned way.

If Arena Net really wants to tie PvP and PvE together (which they apparently do), it makes little sense to not actually give you the item you unlock.

Players who mostly want to play PvP can play a lot of PvE in order to improve their character for PvP. Why can't the reverse be true? Maybe there's one elite I can't find in PvE, or something. So I play a lot of PvP in order to get it. Is there a downside?

How are they tieing PvP and PvE together??? The only thing joining them now with regards to faction is you need a PvE character to go spend the faction. Faction was intended to fix the 'GRIND' that PvP players were complaining about. They couldn't get the special items for PvP without killing many many things. It was never intended to be applied to PvE. So far, i've earned and spent 3000 faction, and I'm very happy with the new system.

In general, there are obviously many ways PvP and PvE tie in together. That is why I say that Arena Net apparently wants them tied together. Actually giving you the items bought with faction points would strengthen this.

I leave it up to others to debate whether or not this would be good, but there it is.

You can say it was never intended to be applied to PvE, but that's only by examining what has actually happened publicly, unless you have some insider information, in which case you don't need us.

One reason that these items, when unlocked should be given to your curent char is the fact that Ranger pets can't be used on PvP chars. Now I have to spend thousands and thousands of gold for that perfect vampiric mod if I want to use it on a pet build.
