I was just looking at the guildwars site today and I came across something odd to me
http://www.guildwars.com/gallery/emblems/default.html
If you looked at this link it will show Guild Emblems..But I thought "Players" Made guilds themselfs like a clan? If you make a guild then where do you get an emblem from If you also check this like below for the SoW Guild it will show they too have a sword emblem?
Do players make these emblems for there guild by designing it or do they pick from a selection of emblems, or do they Upload one from there computer? cuz this confuses me..

from what i can see i'm guessing that the emblems are already provided and im sure there will be mor emblems than that anyway, so enough for the mass number of guilds
worthless
when you create a guild, you make your cape ingame, using a cape creater thats part of the game you select from various patterns and in-game emblems, you cannot create your own and import it, you must choose from those availible to you at the cape creation screen

to "make" your guild you only need 100 gold, to get the guild hall and cape you need 1000
Edit: theses can be done at diferent times

More than that for the guild hall, do a search for all the threads concerning it. The reason they wouldn't allow importing images is fairly obvious... who wants to watch 50 people line up in their fancy capes with giant genitalia on them.. not me. And ANet shouldn't be asked to first inspect every image to make sure it's not obscene or a swear word to keep their ESRB rating. It may come later in an expansion pack (or perhaps a prize in tournaments).

P.S. There were 400,000 people in a BWE (don't remember which one)... EVEN if we used the MAX 100 people per guild, that is still 4,000 guilds... not counting those that will be created later. Who want's to go through thousands of images making sure that its kid-safe... and some people are really good at making obscure references in images.
P.P.S. I keep quoting this guy, I should do a search to see who it is and see if it is accurate (it should be at least close).
From what I understand (I've gathered this from places around the forums)...
It's 100 gold to register your guild (get your forums and reserve the tag and name).
It's 1,000 gold to get the cape.
From there, you can hold out at the Hall of Heroes and get a Celestial Sigil... or you can purchase one for 1,815* gold at the Sigil Trader. With this Sigil you can purchase a Guild Hall.

You can only use the emblems provided by Arena.Net. Which means you can't make your own and upload them. There was recently a contest for players to make their own emblems and submit them to become part of the final game release and available to anyone. It has gone and passed with great results. Why can't you upload them though? Haha. Okay, have you ever played counter-strike? How bout have you ever played CS and seen someone with a custom spraypaint logo? Well, if you have, it answers your question.
When you make a guild cape, you pick an emblem, a cape shape, and the cape's background or secondary emblem sort of thing. Then you customize the colors of the emblem, the cape's background, and the capes background design or secondary emblem (usually something very small if it's another emblem type thing. just a little squiggle. if it's a background, it can be flames or whatever).

I really hope they add more emblems though, a bunch of guilds with the same emblem just doesnt seem cool...
Thumpy
If im not mistaken, you can edit the color of the guild too? so you have the the Emblem and color which gives alot more variety also.

PS: if i am mistaken they should add that feature.
