i once had a lvl 5 monk char that came across someone who told me about the former king of ascalon and i thought his name was alderben, King Alderben, the only reason i want to kno is becuase im not sure if that is the correct spelling and i want to name a character that considering my 3 current characters are named after npc's i have Brother Mhenlo, Meerak The Scribe and Sebedoah the Mesmer i forget how its spelled anyways i just wanted to know if anyone knew the actual kings name i dont want to go around with a name like The Gaint meaning to be The Giant or Im Teh Uber meaning to be Im The Uber sorry this was so long thanks for reading it if you did.

Yes, it is Adelbern.
Why not? 
It's all about role-playing, and if he wants to name his characters that way, then it's his choice. I base my names off of characters from other games (Magus => Chrono Trigger), although I like to make up my own last names. 
I admit, it's less creative than an original name, but meh.

ya its fun to name characters after npc's you get lots of laughs from other people i was lucky to get Brother Mhenlo cuz Mhenlo is so flippin sweet, (men-lo) i got the game real quick and like mhenlo, anyways thanks alot for the name adelbern, maybe il lmake king doric too, btw i didnt buy the game from a store bought it online couldnt wait to get it. how stinkin long does it take to be a counciller dang it

i named one of my characters after a randomly generated name i got when i played neverwinter nights, Sham Leonall. Leo Hahn, cause i like the name Leo. and Mr. Hahn is a DJ for a band i like. Im A Packhorse for obvious reasons, and then Carrie Leonall, because its an elementalist ( if you make an elementalist male and you in Real life are male you have issues) that came from my first character i deleted -.-, and then the last name of my NWN character...

Yeah, I'm not sure if Anet like it that you name after NPC's.
Well ... at least since last update they give you a warning and a chance to change the name instead of just deleting the character straight away or baning your account.

Heh, It's Adelbern -listen to the way everyone pronounces it and you'll see. My favorite character names would be Mobie Duck and Gandalf The Black. Bit offensive, but they gave me a laugh. And mhenlo... it seems like someone I know has the exact same username as you, and you two aren't in the same guild.

I have a few things to say about this, i dont kno if anyone cares though. I receive many comments about how everyone loves my name. but the funniest thing happened recently, u might not think this is funny but it is so laugh,
I received a whisper from a person that i later found out to be lvl4 he was mumblind something about me helpin him with his guild i said o sure id help, just tell me how i kno you and why i should help. he said that he saw me in a city one time and i gave him something and we talked (turns out i gave him a skill) it turns out he thought he was talking to the NPC computer person back in presearing.
he was happy that guy gave him skills so added him to freinds list, turns out he added me and i got a kick out of it.
