Recruits for Hollis Quest

Is this quest broken or was it removed? I got it with my N/W before the June 15th update, but after that I couldnt get it anymore with my ranger. It used to be that u get it after doing the Northern Wall mission. So anyone know what happened to it?

You get it after accepting it from Warmaster Tydus. It's still there, appears to be working fine...

i have to re-check, just brought my latest char to frost gate during the last 2 days and that quest was missing

I noticed the same thing for one of my characters.
I played the game through with my ranger and the quest was there. (Within a week of release)
Went through with my Mesmer and the quest was gone. (Two weeks ago)
Went through again this week with my warrior and the quest was there.

Made a Monk 2 days ago and the quest wasnt there...i also wondered about it, but something tells me it is maybe class specific? [sarcasm] Or does Europe need favor for this one now? :P [/sarcasm]

Did it yesterday with new ele character. Note: I did it in conjunction with a truly new quest (I believe) called 'Family Ties'. From Dwayna's Avatar in Sardelac.

Dreamsmith, I know that u acquire the quest from Tydus, but do u remember when you got it? Such as after completing certain quests? I tried completing Scavengers and Troublesome Artifact but still no Recruits.
Im thinking that maybe u need to complete all the primary profession skill quests before you can get it. When i played my N/W i did all the skill quests from Sardelac before i got Recruits. I havent done all the ranger skill quests given by Nente yet, though. Can somebody confirm this?
Edit: Doubt its class specific. My new char is R/W btw.

Unfortunately, I can't confirm that, but it could certainly be true. The quest is available from Tydus to my N/Me right now, but I've already done all the quests out of Sardelac Sanitarium, so it could be the quest doesn't show up until you do, but I don't know one way or the other since I didn't check before doing the Sanitarium quests. I'd say check after you finish each quest, maybe you can tell us when it actually shows up.

Seems that completing skill quests dont work either. I've completed all of Nente's quests and even Charr Reinforcement from Ivor Trueshot, but it still doesnt show up. Anybody else have any other ideas?

Have you done all the other quests Tydus offers? What about the quests from the Krytan ambassador and his people?
Since this isn't a class-specific quest, it's extraordinarily unlikely that it not showing up is in any way related to your class. Posting your class won't be too helpful, but posting what quests you have or still haven't done might be...
I did Captain Osric's quest to talk to Tydus, Defend the Wall, Tydus' quest to take a message to the Krytan Ambassador, the Ambassador's quest to bring stuff to Ellie Rigby (witnessing Rurik's confrontation with his father along the way), and his buddy's quest to get some materials from the artisan, along with all the profession-specific quests out of Sardelac Sanitarium and Serenity Temple.

Check to all those quests. It wasnt supposed to be class specific but maybe its bugged for certain classes.

Within the last month (Nov 2005) I've put a ranger, monk, ele and necro all through every quest up to yaks bend and my partner has put a mesmer and warrior through the same - only one character ever got the "Recruits for Hollis" (I think it was my necro). It's not supposed to be profession specific but looks like that may have changed or else it's broken for all but one profession.

Brought Ranger, Monk, and Warrior thorugh Ascalon area - Only the Warrior got that quest. I had compelted EVERY other Ascalon area quest, and happened to zone into Ascalon one day and notice Tydus was !'ed again.
I put it off as Warrior specific :\

obviously its bugged. When I wrote them about the bugs they kept saying that they will look into it (that was almost 6 months ago), they didn't tell me that it was updated or such. And they didn't post anything about the quest in the updates page.
Maybe we need a protest like the one the necros had earlier for the tormentor's armor

I think I might have the same problem with another quest, the one were you have to find Old Mack and his devorer. I had it with my e/n, but I haven't found it with either my mo/me or my r/n.

I had the same situation with my E/Me initially. At first I couldn't figure out what was wrong, since my N/E had gotten it without a problem. I did every single Ascalon quest I could do up until Yak's, but with no luck. Then I started thinking about what I had done differently the first time around and I realized that as a necro I had completed the quest 'Fallen Soldiers', given at Piken Square. A light bulb went off in my head... it sort of made sense that Hollis would need new recruits once the old ones had been killed. So as soon as I could, I switched to E/N, did the quest and then went back to check on Warmaster Tydus, who now had 'Recruits for Hollis'. Unless it was a complete fluke (and I don't think it is, since my monk is facing a similar situation now), this should solve your problem.
