It's a quote from one of the Lore chapters.

The text can be found here: http://www.guildwars.com/gameinfo/lo...or_kyhlo3.html ... and is translated as follows:
I adjusted the Hue/Saturation/Brightness levels of the image and there's nothing "hidden" in there ... so I'm not sure what exactly they are implying by "hidden surprises".
Quote:
The big warrior took two more steps, and brought his hammer up, smashing another invader in the small of his back. The sound of bending metal and the snap of bone echoed off the stone walls of the castle, and another Zealot fell to the ground. With his next stride, Mordakai reached the bottom step of the dais and was instantly awash in a sea of forest green and ice blue—Zealots of Shiverpeak colors. A cry went up from the top of the dais. The guild lord had fallen. Mordakai bashed aside one Zealot, then another, determined to make it to his lord. But the invaders held their ground, buoyed by their victory over the lord, and they swarmed in on Mordakai, pinning him in place on the steps. A spear pierced his stomach, and a jolt shot up his spine. It was as if his insides had suddenly ignited, and the pain moved through his body with the speed of a wind-blown flame. Every muscle seized tight, trying to push back the agony. Every pore tingled with the realization that he'd been mortally wounded. Mordakai staggered forward as the spear was pulled from his gut. He shuddered as it pierced his flesh once more. His head began to feel light, and the pain began to numb. His burning hatred of the Zealots of Shiverpeak dulled, and a warm sensation, like a summer breeze on a sandy shore, took hold of him. His tired muscles felt relaxed, and the cares of defending the castle just simply slipped away. |

Iron Horse Mines. I recognized it the moment I looked at the wallpaper. Hardly new, I mapped the whole area out during BWE3, and I think it was there earlier than that...

That's interesting -- I was wondering if something similar had happened to me a few BWE's ago. I was near the exit of a mission or arena area (don't remember exactly where) and I sort of fell through a wall. I was walking around inside the rock wall and it let me walk past where the exit was. I kept going and I found a fairly large cavern with some statues and crystals. There was a large door leading into the rock wall that was inaccessable, but other than that, nothing to do there. It felt rather unfinished and left me thinking I had wandered into a place I wasn't supposed to be.

I am still looking over the wallpaper to see if there is anything else hidden.. I still dunno if the text was ment to be one of the hidden things.
Edit: Hrmm only other thing I see in the wallpaper is very small. It says 'GW 12-1-03' It is just to the bottom right of the words Guild Wars. It's prob just the date of when the concept art was made.. Plus it is slitly visable without doing anything to the Wallpaper.
I realy dont understand what they mean by Hidden Suprises..
Edit: I figured out what the Hidden suprises is!! They finally put 'Spooky' in one of there pcitures.
