The patch notes state that Althea's Ashes was fixed... anyone know exactly what was fixed? It didn't say. Just wondering if they fixed the whole credit without doing it issue.

That's most likely correct. The mission was flawless otherwise (and enjoyable). I haven't done the mission since this patch, but my guess is they probably made it easier (as usual)

I was more wondering if they took out the flaw that let people buy ashes and get credit for the quest. Hmm... I forget what town this is in... my Ranger should be in that area though, soon if not past it...

Piken's Sqaure is where you get the quest from.

The quest was a tough one. Thus people started trying to work around actually going through with it. My guess is the hole that allowed people to buy/sell the ashes was closed, and without any concrete evidence , I'm sure they made it a bit easier. If anyone has played it since, let us know!

Nah, that has never worked in the first place. Everybody who bought the Urn of Altheas Ashes got scammed.

Anyway ... I guess they corrected all those quests such that the quest items are removed from your inventory when you've successfully finished the quest.

The biggest fix was this:
Before, if you had the mission, you could get multiple copies of the ashes every time you touched the altar. In fact, it was hard NOT to end up with multiples. That is what people were selling. Not any more: you only get 1.

That's not 100% accurate... if u had the family urn in your inventory and then someone "give" u the ashes, u had the quest updated and the reward for it without actually DOING the quest

I really hope this is what they fixed, the same way that they should fix that fiery unguent thingy and a couple other ones that are going around. The game, at those areas, is easy enough without those "shortcuts"

I will soon know if they made the quest easier when i go there with my next character, or when i will go farm some charr hides to craft another armor for another of my characters.

The fix is that Duke Barradin now takes the urn/ashes when you talk to him to get the reward.

Why would you want to pass on this quest? It is the mosty dificult question in the first part of the game, but it is also one of the funnnest and best thought out quest as well. At least that is my 2 cents anyways
