Before I waste 4.5 plat on some dye I want to see what it looks like or if I will be wasting my time and money on it.

Thanks in advance.

Quick question... do you mean using black dye on a chaos axe, or actually dyed black? Unless you use dye remover on a chaos axe beforehand, it'll appear all white when you use black dye on it. To make it appear black, without using dye remover, you just use a silver dye.

If you use dye remover, things work normally... but if you want it to actually look black, just invest in some silver dye without any remover.

Black dye will make it white. Weird, I know.

What is meant by this? Do you mean using a silver dye vs using dye remover then silver dye yields different results?

According to an earlier post, no it doesn't. The chart indicates that a silver dye will make the axe glow black. That is not what happened, according to Inferno.

Silver Dye makes the axe glow white with a dark pink fringe.

This is so messed up, I dyed my chaos axe red and it turned green. I died it blue and it turned red.

I'm afraid what black will do if I use dye remover before hand.

We already told you what will happen. On the other note, your avatar is annoying.

I've heard Storm and Eternal Bows as well as Eternal Shields are not affected by dye the same way chaos axes are. Sucks...

Eternal shields will not dye to any color, it will in inventory....not on your character though, I've tried blue, green, yellow and red....none of them did anything.

Storm bows will dye, nothing too noticable to warrant the cost of the dye though imo.

that chart does not correctly show you what black dye does to a chaos axe!

it wont go white.

I dont have it anymore (sold it) but basicly it makes it look dull, like not-quite-white/grey/not-really-glowing.

not very good IMO

but it IS pretty different to all the blue/red/green/yellow ones you see out there

offtopic: how can I mix white dye for my armor?
