Shadowy Skale Fin??

I was doing a run through Riverside and in one of the 4 chests by undead, a Shadowy Skale Fin dropped out. Anyone know what even drops them normally, let alone who takes them? See image [166k]

It could be an item that will be used in the future, but currently has no use now, or it could be a quest item.

You could always take the expert salvage kit to it and see what you get...

so there are different kind of drop items now, and there is no collector that seem to want to trade for it? I feel dumb, cuz im been collecting alot of stuff drop by dead monsters.

I know there are a lot of items on the fire islands that have no collectors for them, but at least I know what drops those. I've never even seen a skale that drops a Shadowy Skale fin heh. Also, the fire islands collector items have values of 50, and this one is 60? Strange.

Fissure item maybe? But why did it pop out of a chest topside?

there are ancient skales in the fissure maybe they come from them

Fissure makes sense, given the 60 gold value. The reason I do riverside runs (besides the chance of runes) is to hit those four chests, because I've gotten some pretty bizarre things from them. Ectoplasm twice was a nice surprise. And then this skale fin.
