Attributes: (cost) '+' indicates Rune attributes
Expertise: 1+1 (1)
Marksmanship: 10+3 (61)
Wilderness Survival: 10+2 (61)
Illusion Magic: 11 (77)

Total attribute points used: 200/200

Skills: [Attribute] (Energy, Cast Time, Recharge TIme)
1) Favorable Winds [Marksmanship] (5,5,60) Nature Ritual: Create a level 9 Spirit. For creatures within its range, arrows move twice as fast as normal and strike for +6 damage. This Spirit dies after 134 seconds.

2) Apply Poison [Wilderness Survival] (15,2,12) Preparation: For 12 seconds, enemies struck by your physical attacks become poisoned for 13 seconds.

3) Fevered Dreams [Illusion Magic] (10,2,10) Hex: For 13 seconds, whenever target foe suffers from a new condition, all nearby foes suffer from that condition as well. This is an elite skill.

4) Pin Down [Marksmanship] (15,0,15) Bow Attack: If Pin Down hits, your target is crippled for 14 seconds.

5) Concussion Shot [Marksmanship] (25,0,10) Bow Attack: If Concussion Shot hits while target foe is casting a spell, the spell is interrupted and your target is dazed for 18 seconds. This attack deals only 14 damage.

6) Hunter's Shot [Marksmanship] (5,0,5) Bow Attack: If Hunter's Shot hits, you strike for +14 damage. If this attack hits a foe that is moving or knocked down, that foe begins bleeding for 22 seconds.

7) Storm Chaser [Wilderness Survival] (10,0,30) Stance: For 18 seconds, you move 25% faster, and you gain 4 energy whenever you take elemental damage.

8) Troll Unguent [Wilderness Survival] (5,3,10) Skill: For 10 seconds, you gain health regeneration +9.

The staple of this build is obviously Fevered Dreams, but I was just wondering, what is the area on that? I was going to use Epidemic and open up a spot for an elite, but I've heard that the area on Epidemic is tiny. So will Fevered Dreams spread the conditions better?

I think the range on epidemic and fevered dreams is about the same if I rememeber correctly. Fevered dreams just saves you a bit of energy and timing.

I have a similar ranger build, but I use epidemic, which doesn't require me to use any attributes in mesmer attributes and it opens up an elite skill slot.

Pretty fun for PvP though 'eh?

Pretty fun for PvP though 'eh? Oh ok, I just put Fevered Dreams in there because I thought the area would be bigger, but since it's not then Epidemic is definitely the way to go. What do you use as your elite by the way?

I played a condition build in Shiverpeaks, but it wouldn't hold up in the Competition arena. How's this one working out for you?

Personally, I HATED Epidemic. Such terrible range. However, if you're going to use it, you should probably take Poison Arrow as your elite, since it lasts longer than Apply and can be stacked with Kindle/Ignite arrows.

Personally though, I love Melandu's Arrows. Since it's an elite prep you can't combine it with either Poison skill, but it inflicts bleeding and slaughters most casters, so I gladly take it over Poison Arrow.

Yes, poison arrow is standard for most condition builds (not all). The problem with conditions is that they are very easily removed, so you always need to be able to spam it back up. Poison arrow means you always have something to do. If you put in poison arrow, you wont need fevered dreams (2 elites anyway) since you can just use tab.
You might want some traps it your going for conditions. Barbed inflicts bleeding and cripple, which is great, so have some of that. Dust Trap is good anti melee, and throw dirt can be used in the downtime (although youve not got full protection). Flame Trap does alright damage as well, and on fire often makes people panic.
However, youve got 3 traps there, all of which are easily interrutible. You dont need illusion now, so put it into inspiration and pick up mantra of resolve. Problem Solved.
As the last two shots, ive put in spirit of failure, with the intention to stack blind over any high dpsers, since the effects stack to 100% miss chance. This means if you hit the right guy and blind doesnt get removed youve got 4 energy per second, the equivalent of about 12 pips of extra energy regeneration. Finally, i put in debilitating shot. Its a bit random but its a monk ele caster someone shutdown to do when your not spamming poison arrow.

Poison Arrow [E]
Dust Trap
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Mantra of Resolve
Throw Dirt
Spirit of Failure
Debilitating Shot

You dont have any points in marksmanship, so your bow wont do any damage, but by simly stacking poison onto an enemy team (assuming 8) you have about 8x8= 64dps.

Um... Fragility? That definately adds damage to that warrior who uses mend ailment on your poison arrow. Condition builds are about what you do with the conditions you stack, not just stacking conditions.

The main use I've seen for Fragility is to combine it with Kindle Arrows when you have 0 Wilderness Survival, since this will set them on fire for 1 second with each shot.

Rii, have you thought about using Apply Poison instead of Poison Arrow and taking Oath Shot as your elite, since it will rechagre all your traps?
