Any R/Necros out there? Need advise on nec skills

I have a Ranger/Necro lvl 19 and have a few questions about Necro skills.

So far I have 12 Marskmanship, 10 Wilderness, 9 expertise, and a few to spare for necro.

I can't decide between Death magic, curses, or blood magic. First of all will I have enough attribute pts to put a few in necro without sacraficing ranger skills? and if so which would be best choice for a little bit of pve and pvp?

W/ Blood magic some skills that interest me are:

Life Syphon- to do life degen of 66 and give me life replen of 66
Well of blood-to help me and party in pve
Shadow strike- deals 41 shadow damg and heals me for 41
vampiric touch/gaze- to steal life

All those obviously help heal me but i think rangers could use another heal besides urgent and most those skills deal damage too

w/ Death magic
Deathly swarm-deal 67 cold damge up to 3 enemies
Putrid explos-shockwave up to 101 damage from corpse to nearby foes
Rotting Flesh-disease which spreads up to 22 seconds slowly draining life
Soul Feast-use corpse to get 234 health
Animate ??- for pve

These seem decent although more geared toward pve

w/ Curses
Enfeeble-up to 17 sec of weakness
Faintheres..- Life Degen and slows enemies attack by 50% up to 29 sec
mark of pain-when foe takes phy damge 34 shadw damg to foes
weaken armor-30 sec of -20 armor penalty
rigor mortis- can't block or evade up to 18 secs

only drawback to curses is no good healing/life regen skills

Which Area of Necro Skill do you think would compliment pve/pvp ranger most? Anyone with experience at R/N i'd appreciate any input.

Marksmanship and Expertise are more or less necessary for all Ranger builds, it's the third attribute that'll define your character as opposed to others. If you want to use a Necro line, then you will probably want to drop Wilderness Survival.

Don't forget that your Necro skills are NOT affected by Expertise, so they will cost 100% regardless of your expertise attribute.

In the late game PvP you won't need any self-heals or self-preservation skills, but if you're in the random arena or in PvE you will probably want to carry them.

I haven't finished leveling my Necro yet, so I don't have access to very many skills. Personally, I prefer Blood Magic for the armor-ignoring life drain skills and the Well of Blood (or Power, if you're late game). That's just preference though.

You could try shadow of fear. Without any additional mods, it lasts for 20 seconds, and is an aoe attack slowdown. So you can keep pumping up expertise/marksmanship/beast mastery/wilderness survival by having to not spend on any of the necro attributes at all.

True, weaken armor, and mark of pain would also be somewhat usable without any pts invested. Hmm i wanted to put some in wilderness though, since i use Kindle/ignite/apply psn often, but maybe that will change once i get Barrage or Melandrues Arrow or whatever that one is

Nothing wrong with Barrage though, I use it on Beast Mastery builds (when my team needs Fertile Season and such).

I have'nt botherd with expertise so far and not sure i will do either. I have a lvl 19 R/N and use Marksman, wilderness, beast and death. Skill I uses are ignite arrows, the sprint that makes arrows go faster, charm/heal pet, summon bone fiend, rez signet, troll ugnent and healing sping.

Personally, I do not have a N/R so I have no real experience within the Ranger field, however, you simply asked for what Necro attribute to try using so I'll give what help I can.

Choosing from the skills on your list, i'd have to go with blood magic for PVE and curses for PVP. Death Magic is sort of reared towards the main damage and benefit of a necromancer (Damage skills + Skills using Soul Reaping's potential abillities), not really fit if your primary ranger.

PVE Blood Magic = Life Siphon and well of blood, casting life siphon on two people with 2-3 health steal on each can give you a decent steady regeneration if your not in the mood for troll ungruent. Well of blood is a good team-player skill and would come in handy sometimes.

PVP Curses = Stacking conditions with both ranger skills and necromancer curses can end up to be a valuable ally in many cases. Enfeeble + Faintheartedness can weaken warriors very nicely. Combine them with poison/cripple/bleed and they'll be helpless in seconds.

For pvp rend enchantments is handy, weaken armor is nice, rigor mortis would be ideal if it worked on arrows. I don't know if it does though. You'll want mark of pain for pve, as it definately increases your damage output. EDIT: and parasitic bond for some guaranteed health. Even if it's removed, you get the health.

Expertise does work on non-ranger skills, it just doesn't work on spells and hexes, which make up most of the necro's repertoire. However, expertise works, for example, on Vamipiric Touch (because this is a Skill and not a Spell). So, if you have a high expertise, you might take advantage of the few necro skills that are not spells.
