When your District has the favor of the gods you must go to the Temple of the Ages, which is a town in Kryta. You can see your District has the favor when you travel to the Temple of the Ages, then there will be a message which says "... currently has the favor of the gods." If you see that message you need to kneel down before the "Statue of Grenth", then a ghost will come up. When you talk to the ghost he asks you if you want to make a sacrifice for the god called Grenth. If you accept this the ghost will take 1 Platinum (1000 Gold Points) from you and he will send you to the Underworld. But look out, you should get a good team first, since Underworld is one of the most difficult parts of the game !

You can also go to the Fissure of Woe by doing the same thing, only with the statue of Balthazar instead of Grenth. The Fissure has weaker mobs than the Underworld, but they're weaker, resulting in about the same difficulty. Recently, I have been getting better drops in the Fissure than in the Underworld.

The main reson people do IS for items. But there are some 5k exp quests there, and the rare black widow spider. Personally, I do it for fun.
