Ranger Preparations skills

Why isn't there a preparation for ice arrows, wind arows, and maybe even earth arrows? I think having 3 fire arrow preparations (Ignite arrows, Kindle arrows, and Incendiary arrows) is a little disappointing if i cant use the other three elements. Fire is a favorite of many people but there are people who like the other elements too.

For the record, Kindle Arrows doesn't do fire damage. "On Fire" is just a condition, like Poison, that ignores armor.

I suppose I could shoot arrows with clumps of dirt on them to do Earth damage....I dunno. Maybe in the expansion.

For the record, Kindle Arrows most certainly does add fire damage. They don't set anything "on fire" (unless the target in question has the Mark of Rodgort hex on it).

I could see how this would work. Techniquely the arrows do not have the element on them but the preparations for the Earth, Wind, and Water elements could simply make the arrows direct the damage: the arrow would be the marker in which the elemental damage is directed.
Lightning damage preps could be rendered as giving off streaks of electricity when they hit, earth damage preps could throw up dust from the ground/arrow as they hit, and cold damage preps could appear as shattering ice shards upon hit.
I like this idea because it broadens the amount of choices that you have; with this, you could fully expand your group's specialization by allowing the team to have single elemental damage skills.
You have bow strings and other such upgrades that allow you to do base elemental damage, so why not skills of all element branches?

Because it doesn't make sense in the context of what a ranger is and what he does. Wilderness Survival is supposed to be little tricks rangers have learned to enhance their skills. Setting arrows on fire or dipping them in poison is easy (heck we do that in the real world, even without magic to aid us), you don't need to be a mage to do that. But somehow adding lightning or cold damage to arrows would pretty much require they be elementalists of some sort. It doesn't really make sense for skills like that to be in the ranger lineup as Wilderness Survival preparations.

Eh, I was just adding that for the sake of argument. Good point Dreamsmith.

My mistake, Incendary Arrows sets on fire, not Kindle.

i know that ignite arrows doesn't do fire damage but is is a fire like attack. Therefore I listed it as fire.

I know that wilderness survival is tricks and techniques that a ranger has learned in the wilderness but, useing the elements could be considered learning how to cope with and take advantage of what you have learned.

What neat trick made the Flame Trap, Dust Trap, and Healing Spring?
