Late Game Quests!

I'm in the Southern Shiverpeaks, and very unimpressed with the number of quests. It's a huge area, with a good number of towns and missions- so where are my quests?

I have fond memories of the huge freedom from both pre-searing and post-searing Ascalon, and to a lesser extent the Northern Shiverpeaks. In Ascalon quests were everywhere, and completed quests gave more quests. I had more quests than I knew what to do with. And I was thrilled.

It seems like in the Southern Shiverpeaks there's a few token quests, but it's mostly missions. This seems like a big waste to me.

Obviously there's not to much the designers can do about this now. (They bring in new quests now and then, which I think is amazing. Not only are many of these quests late game, but there's hope that there will always be something to do, if I'm willing to wait/PvP for a week.)

My real hope is: that in futue expansions, the end game will have as much breadth to it as the early game.

I'll know when I see it.

If it's just a big ubermission, than no, it's not enough late game quests for me- becuase that's really only one big quest.

Why not make your own quests?

For example... "Willow, your task is to go to the fools paradise of the crystal desert and help as many idiots through these missions as you can.
Please make sure they are fully trained before you set them loose in the southern shiverpeaks so contamination can be kept to a minimum!

Reward - any xp/loot you gain from the mobs and a sense of satisfaction that so many teams will benefit from these guided ascendants."

On a serious note, there will be much more in the future so don't worry.

hah, i used to make quests like that in ROSE...because only low level players could get drops from the low level monsters, I'd get them to farm the rare drops like iron thread...I'd give them something that I crafted in trade for them...I'd lose no money since I crafted with stuff I farmed...and the noob would be happy because they really don't need the threads if they're not a dealer (crafter) and they'd get a nice weapon or armor

before I gave up on it (because GW came out) I had about 10 low level characters I was trading with, and grooming some of them to be dealers like me....my name was very distinct...Double Dog Dealer

too bad they deleted my character...but props to the dudes for running 3 channels in the beta, all on one computer!

I agree, back in Old Ascalon there were heaps of quests. Now, in The Souther Shiverpeaks, I've seen maybe three quests in the whole area. Very disappointing.

Hmmm....

Or on another note, I might go into Port Sledge (or similar places) and offer items to the first person to bring me 10 intricate grawl neclaces....

Like I said though, there's not much they can do to give the Shiverpeaks anywhere near as much stuff as there is in Ascalon. (But they are doing what they can do!) My concerns are more over the furure expansions.
