Right now I am in the old ascalan and I am thinking of going to war but if I do will I lose my items that I have and maybe if I put them in the belt pouch would it help??

Going to War? If you mean searing, then no, you will not lose items.

There isn't a way to lose items that you have in your inventory, unless you are buying/selling/completing a quest.
