Rune Penalties: Bug, oversight, or intended?
Synncial77
I've been using 3 superior runes on my Ranger/Necro for quite a while now. I figured that the -75*3 hit points was worth being able to max out my blood magic while still maintaining good ranger stats. The thing is, I never really died until doing a run for infused armour.
When I had 54% death penatly I had about 20 Health. When I had 60% death penaly I would die the instant that someone rezzed me.
Thus, the negative health from runes is calculated AFTER your death penalty. Is it supposed to act this way?

The negative health from runes added after so people can't do what you do.

DP is on you character - of course mods by equipment (armor, runes, weapons, off-hand) will be counted after.
Zuggy
One of my guildies, what he does is have 3 different pieces of chest armor and switches them out depending on the situation.

And that's why you don't wear 3 superiors. In long battles you become pretty useless.

Are you saying that you have 0 health when you're rezzed, or that you die because a monster hits you right away?

I keep my primary attributes pretty even point wise & I put my superiors on my head gear & my minors on my body armor. 4 pieces of body armor for 4 primary attributes. That way I switch out my headgear(in my case tattoos/scars) whenever I need to boost a particular attribute. So at any given moment all my primary attributes are boosted. I even placed a vigor rune(major for now) on one of my pieces of headgear.

lmao!!! at 60% dp he's ressed with negative life! that's cool! Well... not really cool from your perspective I guess, but it would be funny to see.
I recommend what Zuggy said, that's what I plan to do if I get enough cashola to do it.

put your supers on your gloves/boots - they're the cheapest to craft alternates for and also you get hit less there from what i've heard. I've just plain taken off my gloves/boots when the DP gets too high. Though unlike in this situation I only use 1 super and 1 major so except for the likes of uw/fow I dont keel over from just 1 hit (except for those aaxtes in uw that can take me out with 1 hit if i've just 15% dp when they use the right skill)

I was in the Fissure with a guy like that once. He kept dying as soon as I brought him back. Started cursing out the team something fierce, telling us it was our fault.

you can use this to your advantage by making tons of minions

I understand how all of you have coped with this but I'm still of the feeling that this was an oversight by the devs.
I can't imagine that they ever planned on creating a situation where it was completely impossible to be ressurected because you have negative hit points. I mean, if you've died under this circumstance you can't even rectify it by removing your armour because you're dead and your inventory is locked.
I mean, the standard -75 hp per superior rune is enough to detract alot of people. But applying it on top of your death penalty just doesn't seem correct.

Actually I tried something similar to this a while ago. I bought some cheap superiors, got a quick new character and brought it out of presearing asap at level 2. I then proceeded to use the superiors on it for the penalty to be greater then their max hp. Then I went to the first mission and got a low level team with me and played this prank on them that they couldn't res me.
You initially have 1hp because you can't die in towns but it's 1/0 hp, so as soon as you die, you can't be ressed. I was laughing all the way through it, but I gave the rest of the team 1 plat each for their troubles
