I'm 16 and still pretty new to this game and trying to learn as much as possible about it (Last time I checked the /age had the account for a little over 2 months.) but certainly not roleplaying. I've rped on forums off and on for about 4-5 years now and always wanted to rp in an actuall rpg game. I seemed to have nothing but trouble every time I tried (with being flamed and all) so I just stopped trying. I have Factions and recently got Profecies. I'm very active, during school I'm usually on around 3:00 PST but since it's summer you can catch me whenever.
I'm really interested in finding a guild that I can roleplay in, I'm willing to leave my current guild where I'm an officer and be IC all the time. Granted, my main character who is a level 20 E/Me doesn't have a roleplay name and neither does my N/Mo who I just started. But my R/W (whose secondar i will change as soon as i get to the factions missions) and my A/Mo do. I love to roleplay and can be very mature should it be required. I can't stand hand outs and would rather work for what I need.
Forever Knight caught my interest. But as I was reading through the site one of the rules stated that I had to be 18 or older. So I suppose that ruled me out.
My second choice would be The Serpants Sorrows and normally I would submit an application. But I'm just not sure what they're looking for.
In short, are there any other guilds out there? I'll probably continue looking through this post and edit my reply as I see more. Pm me here or catch me in game. I'll usually be on my main, Clairvoyant Disease.

My tip would be if you've enjoyed role-playing with someone at an RP zone, add them to your friends list.
If you find yourself there alone whisper them with an invite to a zone. I've done this many a time, making a once empty zone full of rpers, with many of whom I've never met.
Feel free to bring along a friend or a guild mate, even if its their first time at role-playing, we all had to start somewhere.

The thing is..well,quite frankly if i start roleplaying out in public areas there will be some bad consequences i think.
Im amazed at the lack though,every game has roleplayers and i have no idea why Guild Wars dous not..and theres not realy any way to justify it..its just amazing.

Hmmm if anyone is seriously interested there is a small event held by the Kingdom of Numenor alliance. We're a very small and I mean small group of guilds and Rpers. We meet at Bergens at 6pm Pacific Standard Time. Sadly this even has seem to begin to fade. I seriously more come and join us!
Again though I won't be there because I'm attending a concert. Though if anyone likes to RP mercenaries or any sort of vagabond send me an RP!

2b. Because the storyline isn't very steadfast, most roleplayers are forced to play upon subjects that don't have any shared emotion attached to them. There is very little common ground between GW RPers other than IC complaining about missions and monsters.
3. From what I've seen in certain casual RP sessions, they drift 'way' too far into pseudo-metagame and use far too much lingo to be considered worth pursuing.
Not to say that GW RP is impossible. It simply takes a lot more work than most games. Hooray for Kyaloh!

About the 2d point,well..just dont go there,the ability is there,but you dont have to use it,right?Or if you are there just remain casual and claim to hide or sompthing,the Assasin would surely get away with that,considering its specialty's..

3:If you mean the Roleplayers are bad im not surprised,Guild Wars is very appealing to teens and kids and im not surprised to see roleplay that fits that age proliferate.

Alot of roleplayers have begun to think that the GWRPA is the realy face of the roleplaying community. They could be, but alot of us Rpers are found in vaious indepdent communities. Take the alliance I'm in, we have our own site, Ventrilo and chat server. We are going to have our own events and so on, we love to Rp outside but we found that Rpers got so trivial over Rp style that we lost sight of the purpose of RP, to just have fun.

Might be easier to establish an exact timing instead of just a general place to RP in. I've been to Shing Jea and Bergens to participate in the free RP zones, but it's always empty. I know two other people who like RPing. We try to meet on Thursdays to do this in-game. It'll be cool if there were more people than just us. I would look in those districs where it not for the fact that i would not meet any person whatsoever apart from roleplayers, but realy the odds of finding roleplayers..well i think that changhe is quite low so i wont realy search there.

Hmmm, I'm guessing that many of the GWRPA based events don't get to you guys here no Guru. Wish there was a guild listing so all of the Rp guilds could pop up their links and so on.

I personally tried frequenting the GWRPA boards but they appeared to be having problems. Two weeks after I signed up on their forum one of the more frequent posters (and the person running the forums I believe) posted this long tirade about planning events and no one ever showing up. She went on about how she was never going to do it again and so forth. So I decided it wasn't the place for me and gave up trying RP (I'm new at it).
The Shing Jea/Bergen Hot Springs meeting places was proposed on that board but in all the times I've tried there is never anyone there. Roleplaying a hermit is fine on an island but only if you have a volleyball.

Well Thud in the end once again its the community that is guilty here.
The general Guild Wars player..well you can imagine that most of them arnt exactly acting mature and the changhe of those players accepting roleplayers is low, roleplayers will not be accepted.
On the other side its up to the roleplayers to conquer there fear and go into the crowded districts anyway,if everyone is afraid for a flame war when they try to roleplay in guild wars then its only a matter of time until roleplaying is completely dead.
If you roleplay out of view of the general crowd then noone will be aware of it, roleplayers will not realize there is a roleplaying community and if they dont have a good reason to go searching for this community they will not and simply assume it is not there, they will never find there way to other roleplayers and by the time some do it will be gone.
I mean, the people on these boards and in roleplaying guilds might be getting along fine in there roleplaying,but sooner or later they will leave the game one by one, and without new roleplayers to take there place,you can think up the result.

Oh and yes if the roleplayers would come out of hiding so to speak all hell would break loose, but in the end the rest of the players will have no choiche but to accept the roleplayers.
