Why take it out on the honest players?

I have finished the single player game, so just for fun I decided to run around some of the area's of the map that I haven't explored and see what kind of drops I get. The answer is NOTHING. I have not gotten a single purple or gold drop in over 7 days. I used to get 1 every day or two.

I'm not one of those people who care about money in this game. I just like to go out and see what kind of cool items I can find. I guess since I don't care much for the PVP then I am effectively done with this game.

I have really enjoyed it up until this point, so I can't complain. I feel I definately got my moneys worth, but by the time expansions come out, I won't be interested in them. I do understand that this game is primarily a PVP game, but the instanced quests make for a wonderful PVE experience. I just wish there was more of it.

It is not my fault that lowlifes are using bots and overfarming areas. Why punish the honest members as well? Why not monitor the accoubnts of the abusers and eliminate them? It was fun while it lasted.

They do monitor the accounts and ban bot users, but they also want to stop botting before it starts, which is the reason for nerfing (I guess).

And when you do get a gold item, you will be really excited about it...trust me!

This game is still a fledgeling and the future is very bright indeed. If playing until the expansion arrives doesn't suit you, just put it away until the expansion does arrive.
You said yourself that it was money well spent, so the expansion is something you shouldn't miss out on either. ArenaNet promised new content in the future and i am sure it will be as exciting as the release.

Peace.

I agree, T-D. The game is in its infancy and, if they have to put the kabosh on exploiters, I say it's better now than later. Hopefully they can close some of the loopholes -now- and perhaps the future will be brighter drops-wise.

My hope is that, with future expansions, the single or PvE player will get a bit of attention. My guild doesn't PvP and, while I realize that, at least at its inception, GW is all about GvG/PvP, a huge part of the community would love to see more non-linear quests and PvE action.

Maybe when that type of thing is recognized and rewarded, drops will improve.

OMG! I got (at least) two purples and a gold over the weekend! I must be teh ub3r h4xx0r because all the honest players have been nerfed. (No farming btw.)

That or sometimes people just have good/bad luck.

To be honest though, if the only reason you are playing the game still is to get the occassional piece of good loot, then you may aswell give up now. It's not like there's much to do with it once you've got it. There's even a max on how much money you can have, so even 'I'm rich' bragging rights are not an option.

I never had a gold drop until after ascension. I've had only three since that first one. You don't see me complaining. You were getting one almost everyday. Be happy with what you have.

I should have been more clear. I have had less than 10 gold drops the entire time, but I have had many purple drops.

Ok, understood. I just group with henchies all the time, so they steal my loot. I choose to be with them, so I know they are stealing my loot and I have no right to complain.

Are you grouping with henchmen?

Henches are greedy buggers, that's for sure. I'd prefer to pay them up front before the mission, to be honest.

Speaking of drops - anyone else notice a sharp rise in the drops of dye, or am I imagining things?
Last two days I've found 8 bottles of dye, that's about as much as I found in the month before combined...

I have found a LOT of dye as well. I've probably got at least 3 bottles of 6 different colors in my stash at the moment. Maybe AN is trying to get the dye market under control?

i get at least 1-2 purples a day (very low level) and i am not to lions arch

AS FOR DYE

if i dont get at least 1-2 dyes per hour i feel skunked

on the other hand the nerfs that people claim ruined their farming spot seem to have spread out to more people

before the *destruction* of farming i never got 1 single rune in 90+ hours of play

after it was *destroyed* i got my first rune and also my first unlock AND my first weapon upgrade

it has not gone down since then

i do not find i am being punished at all and this is all low level territory

if i get skunked later so be it

I like how he calls people who farm lowlifes. Nice narrowminded view there. ArenaNet made us farm to unlock stuff, and then nerfed farming to the point of it not being worth doing. Honest players? I think you meant PvE scrubs.

Agreed. I found 4 yesterday and 4 today...just a little casual hunting/testing strategies.
Kinda nice instead of boring merchant food.

In the last week I've had tons of stuff fall outta the sky. I haven't unlocked a single superior even with completing the game 2(almost 3) times until this week when I got 2 unlocked in the same mission. That and all the gold & purple staves that have been falling outta the sky. Until last week I was using wands, now I have 6 staves of which 4 are gold. I havent kept all the stuff for myself either. I have given away or sold(I dont sell to real ppl, NPC merchants only) a lot as well. In one mission I came across 1 gold & 2 purple bows...gave those to the Ranger in the mission. If I was a seller/farmer I would be much much richer than I am now that's for sure with all the loot that the gods have been raining down upon me in the last week. I have found good stuff in the past before this last week but very, very, rarely. Like one gold item a week...now I get at least 1 a day.

Please don't misunderstand the intent of that statement. I am simply talking about the kind of people that will resort to bots and such to twist the intent of the game. You sound a little to L33T for me.

Up till 2 weeks ago i had never found a gold item, since then i am finding them regulary!

My guess is that you people moaning about not getting your precious items are either expecting to get them 99% of the time (not gonna happen) or are botting or are farming 24 hours a day.

Drops are completely random....I haven't had a gold drop for a while...and suddenly this weekend I got 2 gold drops within the same quest!

Completely random. So don't blame ANet on that.

It looks like I may have to believe you on this one. Today, in about four hours of wandering around. I have gotten 6 purple items. None of them were anything to brag about, but perhaps they haven't changed the drop rate as drastically as I thought.

Sometimes, you just get lucky streaks. I've been running my roommate through missions with henchmen rounding out the rest of the party. From Borlis Pass to Beacon's Perch, we must have gotten 4-5 runes with at least 2 being purple. From Camp Rancor to Droknar's Forge to most of the way to Copperhammer Mines, we got maybe 3-4 more runes, with one being gold. That's the most purples/golds I've seen in weeks for runes.

He just got the game a few days ago, so I've been giving all of the runes to him to unlock (I have 70% of the minors unlocked myself). Probably has 12 runes unlocked now, with at least 1 major and 1 superior.
