I would offer you 1.5K on this if you want to sell it. I have Aegis with the same stats, but req 10 (and I just changed my build to 9 tactics)

It has health +40 while enchanted and you want to buy it for 1.5k?

He's giving an excuse and a low price because he actually wants the item rather than doing a legitimate price check on it.

That shield could go for 15k without a sweat. But you may have to sell it for lower since most tactics users want tall shields, shield of the wing (same as aegis) and aegis models for their looks. These days, it's hard to sell something for the mods it has because everyone is concerned about the look. Just like all the strength warriors want eternal and magmas shields. But strength have it good, they don't have round garbage can lids for shields...most of theirs looks decent, if not spectacular.

It has absolutely nothing to do with that and no offense to OP. At this point the game is more about style rather than substance, hence the fact that people pay 100K+ for the same bow you can get from a collector because the bow is "gold." The price is based on my experience, bought my Gold Aegis with the same stats, but higher req, for 750g, from a forum auction. Paid 1.5K for purple tall shield with +13 always and 2K for +25 always. Regardless, he doesn't have to consider selling it to me, but I can offer if I'd like.

Anyway, thanks for the flame, it is always neccessary to prove you superiority in an online forum.

Since you've edited out some select points of interest since you posted, I'll respond to what you have currently.

First off, I'd like to remind you that this is a subforum dedicated to miscellaneous things not related to selling or buying (most prominently, price checking). Therefore, people who post on here are looking for a price quote, not for you to make an offer. When they have a good idea of the price of an item, they will post it in the Sell subforum, which clues you in to their newfound willingness to sell.

Second, the example you gave regarding bows is a good one, but is irrelevant to the current subject. There are no collector shields with similar stats to the shield being offered. That is a moot point. But since it makes up the majority of your argument, let's look into it some more. It is true that a lot of people are more interested in the look of the item than the mods on it. But half or more of the players are still very interested in the mods themselves, with looks being a plus to the price of an object. He wouldn't have a problem finding one of those people to sell it to. Also, the reason many people use collector's bows rather than the perfect rare bows is because they are identical, except the requirements. But there is no way to acquire an identical shield from a collector. The closest one being the crimson carapace shield from the collector outside Camp Rankor. A found item is found, and not as easily obtained as collector items. Therefore, you can't compare the two by giving an example using the ascalon bows.

Finally, by mentioning the aesthetic differences as well as your offer, you've shows that you're one of the superficial people who are interested in the looks of the item. You also tried to reason for your offer by saying people are more interested in good looking shields (the reason is hidden in the meaning of the second post, not the original offer). But if you really were interested in the item's mods than the look, you would make a reasonable bid for it. Since you did not, we can assume you're more interested in looks. But if you were interested in the look of an item, why would you make an offer on this in the first place?

And there's our contradiction...you made a low offer (in a subforum that wasn't made for bidding) on an item and say it was because the item doesn't have a good model, but then intending to use it for it's mods even though you claim that now the game is all about appearance.

My edit was to add "no offense to the OP." Secondly, the shields I currently have were purchased for the stats, not the look (they happened to look nice). I apologize for posting the the wrong forum. However, I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, but not if that opinion is a flame.

The "in stance" crimson carapace shield is on 3 different collectors, earliest is Lions Arch.

1,5k for a "+40 health while enchanted is a super low pricecheck , similar ones have sold for 10 times that (if its str then even more than so).

Making lowball offers in pricecheck threads is just selfish (only thing missing is the "pm me!"-line so noone comments on cheap price).

Unfortunately you can not salvage or mod shields.
