Worlds?

Are there a certain number of people that can be on at one time? or are there different worlds that you can play in that have the same things?

No limit as far as i know who can be on at one time. No seperate world or servers. Just one for all to connect to. There are however districts within towns that can handle about 100 people at one time. New districts open up as more people log on. You can also goto the other districts as well to meet with friends/guildmates or just to party up. GW is wayy ahead of others of the genre. Look at the stickies for more info. Everything that new players need to know are found there.

So are you saying that if Player A went to a town, and Player B went to the same town, they could both end up in different districts?

Yes, even towns are instanced. It is necessary to limit this if you don't want (network and graphics) lag.
But you are free to choose the district you want to go to, the only time you can't enter a specific district is when it's full.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I was under the impression you were randomly placed into a district. If it were so, there would be some weird community issues such as meeting up with your guild or trading with a friend in a town.
