I have an nvidia gforce4 mx 4000 64mb , when I start the game my monitor turns off and my screen goes blank.Im running directx 9c and all of my drivers are current. anybody knows what could be causing the problem? ty in advance!!!

Do you have to restart the compuer after that?
*Edit* You said your drivers are current. If i remember the last drivers weren't good for game. You might wanna go back to like 61.76 or something like that, about 2 driver sets back. Otherwise, need more info myself. Likely someone else help you better.

Nvidia driver archive 61.77 drivers.

folks at guru3d.com recommend the 56.72s for GF4MXs. i believe that is what i am running on mine..
DarkWasp
And the 66.93s fixed my Nvida lock-up problem.

I've been using their drivers for a while and I'm always very satisified.

Another problem that could be occuring beyond the drivers has to do with the res of the game/desktop. This may sound wierd but if the older drivers still wont work the next thing to try is to low your desktop res. Also if you are over clocking this can happen.

yeah, the refresh rate can make things go bad, try 60hz for U.S. and 75hz if youre in europe.
otherwise rollback the drivers and youll be set .

A new vid. card would actually help you out more. They won't keep making driver's for this card, it's really out of date.

Yeah, and that card isn't really what you should be playing GW on. Get a nice ATI 9800 PRO, theyre quite cheap at the moment, and will last you atleast another year yet.
mindless_seijii
I have a ATI x 700 pro works great on my 820GM Gateway Media Center PC
βlitzkrieg
yeah, I have an RX800XT VIVO Platinum, and works sweet, everything turned up.
mindless_seijii
i would of just said Nvida sucks sell it and get a ATI product

thats not necessarily true, my nvidia works great on my comp, but you have to remember it also depends on the memory, and things such as that which add to performance, also if your comp is good enough, you could download coolbits and overclock the vid card giving it that extra boost it needs .
also, ive heard that using other card drivers (mixing and matching say ati with nvidia) works quite well in some cases, but im not too sure about that seeing as ive never tried it, but if anyone else has, post some feedback on your experience with that.
