All Chat doesn't show up

I've been playing GW since the day it came out and everything's been fine, and just yesterday I noticed that whatever people type in the All! Chat view does not come up on the screen for me. I can only see what they say in little bubbles above their heads for some reason. Even when I type in the All! Chat it doesn't come up. This is a very strange problem that I haven't been able to find any other complaints about, so can anyone find a way to fix this?

Hit the "~" button up there by the number one. Now, put a check mark in the box beside "Local".
