Hell's Precipice

Upon completing the final missions in the game, I noticed an extreme lack of monks. And the few monks in these later missions all seemed to either be AFK, extremely full of themselves and demanded everything always go exactly as they wanted, or even monks that demanded payment for their services. So I decided to create a monk of my own to help solve this problem. However I did not relish having to do all of the missions over again, so I decided to skip as many as I could.

I left pre-searing at level 3, ran around Old Ascalon for a little bit to pick up skill quests, then henched to Piken Square, then henched to the academy, then henched to Yak's Bend. By now I was level 7.

I had never tried going through the northern route and avoiding the missions before so I thought I'd go for it. I grabbed the henchmen again and off I went. I kept going and going and going and going until I eventually arrived safe but insane at Beacon's Perch. What a long and annoying route to take (more annoying due to my low level). I will surely avoid this route in the future. Although I never died, between my henchmen dieing and their slow killing speed I had had enough of this awful route.

The Iron Horse Mines was going smoothly until I reached a bridge. The warrior henchmen proceeded to stand there taking hits from mobs below and refused to move no matter how many times I clicked on targets past the bridge. This eventually led to all of my henchmen dieing. I then took off running by myself and somehow made it to Anvil Rock after several near deaths.

Anvil Rock was easy. After a quick stop at the Ice Tooth Cave I was on my way again, now level 8. The Deldrimmor Bowl was almost as annoying as the Iron Horse Mines because I kept running into large unpassable groups of Shiverpeak Centaurs that made a game of chasing me around while my henchmen ignored most of the few target calls I could get in. I finally made it to Beacon's Perch where I quickly turned the game off. Phew...

I wanted to start a monk for my first character...but I wanted to be a smiter...and decided that it wasn't worth the effort dealing with people who think monks are only good for healing.

LOL, Algren. Just name your monk Mr. Smite or Brother Smite...maybe people would get the point.
