This was my first beta weekend and I was a little disappointed at people who ripped people off. I saw all these people buying dyes at dirt cheap prices and then sell for a ton more. I was all about helping people instead of making gold. You can make gold when the full version comes out IMO. I traded most of my stuff that I did not need and rarely took gold. What's the point of making gold when you have to wait a month till you get to use it again. I think it's pretty sad that players would take advantage of others who are just having some fun or are new to the game and try to make fake $ off them......Pretty lame in my book that greed can even find it's way into games.

PS....No I didn't get ripped off this weekend but I saw alot of people who did.

Since there was only a weekend to play, people who wanted to dump off items really quickly would sell for cheap/rip themselves off. Like those you mentionned, I'd rather get ripped off and get something really quick, than have to spam longer to get an equal deal.

I mean, none forced anyone to do trades, it's barter, and I love it.

True. I kept getting dyes but didn't want to hang around in a town spamming the sale. The one time I did trade I had a silver dye while at the Abbey and some players were asking for dyes so I sent out a "I have a silver dye, let me know how much you want to pay" I got one offer for 10 gold and figured wth and traded. I mean I'd been selling to Outfitters for 1g and I wanted to get back into the quest which was the Catacomb one early on.

Now I know better but I doubt I'll try to extort 50 gold or something.

Maybe devs will implement an auction systems and new people can check the boards for current pricing.

you can check the dye merchant in lion's arch to get an idea of how much that particular dye is worth, since she operates on a supply/demand basis..

since your inventory will be part of the wipe anyway i simply tossed things i didnt need into the crowd so to speak and let anybody who needed it have it

after retail i wont do that as much but as long as i will lose it anyway.........

i didn't bother trying to trade away dyes... the trader sold silver for like 65g and bought it for like 50... so i should spend 10min trying to get a 10gold profit or something? no thanks

this was the first weekend i traded a lot, I kinda hate doing it since i'm scared of getting the short end of the stick , but I think I did a whole bucnh of good trades and only 2 bad, sadly it's the bad ones that haunt me in my dreams

What little I did trade, outside of with guildmates, I gladly gave away for free under the presumption that:
1. it's a whole nother month till the next BWE
2. I get enough gold from drops for my purposes
3. If someone wants it they must need it more than I do
4. What they heck, I'm just a nice guy(not a sucker)
