Which combination of elementalist 1.5k armor?

So, I just reached Droknar's and I figured it's time to buy some new armor. I was thinking whether I should set a complete set of pyromancer armor or should I mix the armors so I'd get some other resistances as well. Any recommendations?

Entirely depends on which looks the coolest to you.

OR what you think is the most effective defensively...I'd never buy something because it 'looked cool'....

generally speaking you want your chest piece to be highest armor as most projectile and melee attacks hit the chest piece...the rest of the armor is up to you.

You may not buy something because it looks cool, but other people do. Examples: Dye, 15K Armor, etc.

Doesn't all elementalist armor have the same AL?

P.S. I was being sarcastic in that earlier post, if you couldn't tell.

For PvE, the best armor is going to depend on what you're fighting. Pyromancer is best in the fire islands, hydromancer in the shiverpeaks, geomancer in the desert, aeromancer against Mursaat. Personally I'd avoid hydromancer (least dangerous spikes = least need for armor), only use geomancer in the desert, and pick between pyromancer and aeromancer for the endgame.

In PvP, take whatever FOTM is. Aeromancer is still ideal because of how popular air gank is, but pyromancer is getting a case with the popularity of Greater Conflagration.
