How Does Rushing a Low Lvl Char work?

Hi everyone...

pardon my newbishness, but asking questions and having them answered is the way to break out of that isn't it?

I hear everybody talking about rushing low lvl chars through the tougher zones... and I don't understand how this can be at all beneficial...

For example, i have a secondary character, War/Me lvl 6 atm. I want to see all the W and Me skills, so that i can use them on my PvP chars.. but redoing all the missions and quests is kind of boring for me. I've seen all the cutscenes, and know how the plot goes, and i just don't feel like sitting through it all again, but I want to be able to play Warrior and Mesmer in PvP.

So i suppose i can hire a guide and rush him to the end, but i don't understand how that could help me, because even though I'll have access to all skill trainers, i won't have very many skill points with which to get them.

So how does this whole rushing business work? Or is there a different way that i'm not thinking of.

Also, my friend and I were playing our low lvl chars together, but he's recently pulled ahead of me. Is there any quick and easy way to catch up with him so that we can play together rather than me redoing all the missions by myself trying to catch up?

People don't rush characters to get skills ussually. I would suggest using your main character and witch his secondary, buy the skills you need, then switch back and make your PvP character.

Some people rush them to be able to get the good abilities at the end unlocked for PvP, others rush for droknar's armor. Some people rush because they don't like playing the entire game as they have no attention spam.

a lot of people leaving pre-searing at around level 3. from there they get rushed from old ascalon to beacon's perch and on to droknar's for the current end-game armor.

You can have people rush you to the missions or to extremely hard places to get to, such as Droknar's Forge, where end game armor is. For example, you could have a person rush you to Droknar, and have end game armor at your current lvl of 6(expensive though). This would make the rest of the missions and quests WAY easier.

Also, if you complete all the missions only you'll still get quite a bit of experience and lvl up. Having the best armor and skipping right to the missions would greatly speed up the game so you can catch up.

It used to be that Ascending would auto-level you to level 20, so you could skip the whole leveling process by getting rushed to Ascension area and successfully completing it.

Since that's no longer possible, you can also get other players to rush you to Droknar's (either for platinum or because they are nice), where, if you choose, you can buy armor which will make you fairly invincible.

This won't work if you are after *all* skills for both primary and secondary, like I did for my N/Me - or not without spending a lot of time getting XP for new skill points.

If you want a small subset of skills from two possible secondary classes this could work very well for you.

Go for quests with high XP rewards. Mission + bonus is excellent for this.
