A fiery sword hilt is an upgrade for swords, it changes the sword's damage to fire damage. It doesn't add any damage.

you just said it "adds" damage, and than you said it doesnt add damage, I know its an upgrade, but honestly your reply didnt help.

you can usually find them for 200-300 gold, they arent hard to find either

No it won't change the appearance and they're worthless not to mention not even useful 99.9% of the time.
