We do want your help with polish and bug reports, this BWE. So please, let us hear about any problems that you've experienced, so we can spruce things up before release. (Please, only issues from the current BWE, so we can focus on the essentials and not dig through already-reported matters.)
Oh, and please use the Official Suggestions Thread to share your ideas about things that would be great inclusions in Guild Wars. The release is fast approaching, but we will be doing streaming updates and there is a new chapter upon which we'll be starting immediately after April 28th.

I also am getting that Err=4 error when trying to log in. I had logged out to switch characters and keep getting that error.

One of my characters got corrupted its wierd when i play the game with him the graphics are screwed up but not with any of my other characters he is a RP character from way back. Ill try to get a video of it but the jist is my screen turns one color and i cant see anthing and if i can see people have bushes or trees on them ect.. It definatly doesnt happen with any of my other characters/

Area Downloading on Dial up is horrible can u fix this??? takes from 30 secs to 40 min... 10 files = 30 secs/600 files = 40 min
or will the game have it fixed when it comes to stores so u dont load as much?
P.S and can u plz make it were everyone can see each other in battle areas later in time cuzz it dont feel rpg'ish this way, only able to see others in town(s)...

I am not one hundred percent sure this is a bug, but I believe it is. I have been trying to do the Althea's Ashes quest for quite some time, it says to go to the Flame Temple Corridor and look for them, and the arrow politely points the way, but as soon as I enter that map the arrow dissapears. I've completely covered the map, as far as I can tell, and have yet to find them.
Has anyone completed this quest?
EDIT: I finally finished this quest, but only because someone had accidentally stumbled across them in the wrong location. They are not in the Flame Temple Corridor as the quest log states. They were in a Charr Altar slightly Northeast of Nolani Academy in that valley with the small steppe pyramids and the three or four Charr bosses, two of which are standing close to the altar together.
Unfortunately, this quest was one of several that had some sort of bug making them impossible to complete for some people. I managed to complete it, but when I took a couple of people there so another person could complete it, she got the confirmation that she needed to report back to Duke Barradin, but when she did, she could click the accept reward button as many times as she wanted and never got the reward.
I had the same problem on a quest given by a dwarf next to the portal to the Iron Horse Mine. I don't remember the name, but I bug reported it in game at the time, so the dev team knows about it.
Also, I still have quests from Pre-War ascalon that have been there since they were introduced, and there's no way to remove them. I know the characters will all be reset, but the quests should either not be there after leaving Pre-War Ascalon, or there should be a way to remove quests you no longer want in your quest log.
Has anyone completed this quest?

The crystal walkway in the Catacombs where you fight those traitors sometimes doesn't work. When you are supposed to walk onto it, you continue to run downhill, then get caught on something.
The Guild Cape Creation Screen is awfully buggy. I can barely see the cape sample, only half the colors, and it all looks shoddy.

Last month's BWE I had no problems playing at all.
This time, I have had it happen 15-20 times, where in game (cities, outposts, missions, etc) actions will stop, and then I'll end up at the log-in screen with an Err=7. I can log right back in without delay, but it proves to be a very annoying problem when it happens during a mission. I started a new character and had it happen right outside the gates of Ascalon City, so it isn't something to do with a particular character. Nothing has changed on my end since last month's BWE, so I am reporting this as a bug. I hope it can be fixed by release. Thanks.
**EDIT: found out this was a netgear router issue. Went out and bought a different brand of router. Installed, configured, tried to play and had the same problem. After having such an awesome time last beta weekend (and even talking others into getting the game), I am very upset about this and am considering cancelling my preorders. I've been talking to support all weekend with no success.

Verata the Necromancer - Bug - Broken quest. When attempting the Verata the Necromancer quest which was assigned in Yak's Bend; I walk through Traveller's Vale till I reach her. I attack her and she will run past the Zone Point for Ascalon Foothills region. This makes the quest impossible to complete as I am unable to give chase (I end up zoned) and unable to reach her by spell or missile weapon.

Very odd bug for me.
If i have winamp playing, and a new area downloads/decompresses, the entire computer pretty much hangs for a good 5+ minutes. It eventually passes, but guild wars is "not responding" and i can barely even move the mouse cause everything is so skippy.
If i go into an area where nothing has to download, theres no problem and it transitions in a few seconds.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but, my MP3's are on a seperate harddrive than guild wars is installed.
(Guild Wars is on my WD Raptor, my songs are on my storage drive - seagate 7200rpm)

Hi, i have 2 Major Bugs ingame.
Sound: Sometimes after a while playing the Sound stops, the Fighting sounds for example.
Can hear nothing. Going back to Windows (ALt+Tab) and back to game, in most cases Sound is OK.

Grafik: When i played a long Time, the Grafik becomes Chaotic, many Textures Flimmer or have a wrong Color. Sometimes the complete Screen gets one Color (Purple) or it becomes Slow and Bad Qualitiy if it where in Compatibility Mode or Something.
After Alt+Tabbing back to Windows, the problem is fixed for some Time. Only a few Times i hang in Windows after Alt+Tab with 4 Bit Color and cant do anything else than Restart.
(Geforce 6800, with Newest Released WHQL Drivers, Windows XP SP2)

This weekend I noticed a few annoying glitches...
1) Those close window X in the upper right hand corner is not responding quickly. It took repeatedly clicking it to get windows to close.
2) Objects getting in the way - namely pets and dead bodies. The pets at times would stand right in front of the legs of my husband and my characters and we would have to back up to get away from them. Same with some dead bodies.
It would be nice if the pets responded when the owner moves by moving out of the way. And dead bodies should be walk-overable.
3) Husband accidentally sold a decent bow because he switched weapons then saw an Outfitter and didn't realize that the darned equipped weapons remain in the inventory. This is very annoying.
I still think that there should be slots next to the character where the alternate equipped weapons go to and remain instead of being in the inventory with the chance of them being salvaged or sold by accident.
4) The devs may not see it as a bug, but it's darned irritating and I wish this would change before the final release. I don't like logging out to log in a different character than the one I'm currently playing. If there's a way to do this without logging out of the game completely it wasn't made apparent enough to find it.
That's all for this final BWE. I look forward to playing this game in a more permanent fashion.

I could not complete the quest "counting the falllen". I think that is what its called. The one where you go into the ruins of old Aschlon to get the census. When I get to the chest that has the census in it, It says "this chest has already been opened". I was so let down, that was a hard quest to.

Stange Graphical Problem - Though I think it's just my machine
In some areas, especially both new and old ascalon, the ground suddenly turns white when I am anything but low detail graphics.
In other area's i can run the High end graphics No problem, no framerate loss nothing, they run fine.
I "fix" this, by sliding the graphics bar to the next option then back again.
Though seeing the white ground is funky, it looks like freshly fallen snow.
In some areas, especially both new and old ascalon, the ground suddenly turns white when I am anything but low detail graphics.

I "fix" this, by sliding the graphics bar to the next option then back again.

I often had the problem with the "invite window". somebody invited me, the small window came up, but the buttons where inactive (also no text was shown on the buttons).
Also: When the party leader spammed invitations (
) the content of the party window "floated" out of the box. Maybe there should be a limit of active invitations? (the windows dont look flexible, more like fixed size windows)
I also was at first a bit confused about the american / europe servers and how they work. Often the european server was nearly empty or the other way round. Disconnect -> change server -> login -> ahhh people! I hope that changes when the game is released (lack of people at "night time"
). Will it be possible at all the change the server?
Sometimes the "command cue" forgets things: I attackd a foe (weapon) -> did some spells and afterwards my char returned to attack it with the weapon, but sometimes not. Meanwhile you lose some precios seconds until you realize that the character stopped attacking.

When i died in Role play mode, i looked through my party members(alive ones), then went back to looking at my dead body. Then when i clicked on the ground my dead body moved to that location. Although i couldnt move it with the WSAD or arrow keys. I could run the whole map as a dead body and never get hurt or seen. Other players just saw my body in the same place it had originly died.
Also the 'rock paper scissors' animation, when you try to repeate an animation IE do paper twice, It wont repeat it and stays in the position the first animation ended.
In the cave for devona(spelling?) eggs or something I walked into the eggs and got completely stuck, couldnt move any direction.

When party all got killed and were all at the same time resurrected at the resurrection point: a few times the healer would run off and die someplace.
Item draps I couldn't pick up because it was next to some rocks, or busted up building.. whatever happened a few times . In one of those cases there was an enemy that was over/in/on rocks that I couldn't hit with melee attack, had to use Monk smite skills to kill it.

This happened while playing in the Tombs. I was loading the map for Burial Mounds and I am fairly sure that the match started before I had finished downloading. I was "in" the match, but all I could see was the loading screen, the party member window, people's health bars, and my skill bar. So I played the whole match with the loading screen up and all the health bars, etc. being smeared across my screen. I could still operate (since I was a monk) by clicking on my party members in the party window and using my skills. I've got a screenshot of it at the end here. (It's a pretty large file).

- The textual identifier for the appearance selections in character creation are currently placed right in the middle between two elements, which makes it somewhat confusing which buttons they belong to. Not really a problem in any way, just seems undesireable for an interface.
- when sitting down, if you move to a nearby spot the character will stand instantly, take a few steps and at the destination instantly sit down again, then perform the 'standing up' animation. The character should just instantly stand up and stay up.
- the dialog closing button has indeed become difficult to click, it seems the interface will wait for the X highlight to appear before accepting the click, and this highlight sometimes doesn't appear even if you're aiming straight at the center of the X (only to appear when you move to the corner of the X). Especially on slower systems this can get frustrating.
- At some point coming from Druid's Outlook I had what seemed like a transparent texture filling my screen that persisted until I logged off and back in. Couldn't reproduce this, but maybe it can give the programmers a clue.
- Not sure what changed in the graphics engine, but three of my guildmates had very bad graphics artifacts in GW this beta, two of which managed to fix it by reinstalling their graphics drivers, one was unable to play - all had cards within the minimum specification, with two ATI Radeon 9800 Pros and one geforce4 mx420 (which ended up unfixable). Not sure if this is related to directx, the video cards, the drivers or GW itself, but those systems were able to run GW just fine before this BWE.
- For some reason GW doesn't multitask as nicely while viewing inventory or when viewing the map. I noticed this in the music I was playing in the background - my sound drivers currently aren't exactly optimal due to Audigy issues, but had no trouble in-game, however whenever I loaded my inventory or the map the music began to skip/break up. Especially the map seems an awkward thing, since it shouldn't be more than a texture overlay with a few highlights and hotspots.

I was in the Ruins Of Surmia mission and got stuck inside some steps. I eventually clicked on a fiend as it walked by and it freed me, but I couldn't manually walk anywhere. Screens:

I logged this using /bug in game but since you asked,
I am pretty sure I've narrowed this down to:
If: person 'A' sends a whisper to person 'B' and person 'A' is /afk (using the afk sit animation type dealy)-
Then: When person 'B' tries to respond to person 'A' by whispering back, person 'A' will not get the whisper that person 'B' sent.
Instead: Person 'A' thinks that person 'B' is ignoring them, person 'B' gets a message stating that person 'A' is not online or something similar-(however you can see that person 'A' is indeed online using the 'FRIENDS' function.
Possible fix?: When an /afk person sends a whisper, they should automatically come off afk.
I am pretty sure this happend every time said person 'A' was afk, but I didn't have time to test it out fully.

Sometimes when I port to a city or outpost, my guild cape/cloak would cut off all texture except for the bottom left corner and even then it was the wrong design (the paw prints on a blue background everytime I think). In missions this never happened, and only in cities very rarely (Radeon 900 pro 128). If I leave and ocme back it usually doesn't happen.
Sometimes when I select a mob far away when there are other mobs in front of it, I will see myself instantly teleport to that mob and then hit once, port back and see myself running toward that mob. Might be when calling targets out only?

Sometimes, after being killed in PvP or in RP, my character would appear to be spinning around in circles on the ground. However, no one could see this, except me.

I was having crashing issues (i think unrelated to GW) but i had to Redo the academy quest 6 times after reaching ascalon city I was walkign around ascalon city getting quest and skills and it would crash on me and I would have to redo the Quest back at the academy

at the end of riverside mission the White mantle floated over the destroyed bridge and kept attacking us over the cutscene

On a different note, the necro quest (while not major) is very anoying, pleas make it so that he cant run into the other area.

I did this Quest twice and think they did this on purpose
With out minions Verata is very easy to kill and if you come from the other direction its very easy to pick the minions off one by one.
it much tougher coming from that direction as verata gets stronger .verata slowly gets more minions from party members death and corpses from monsters. heck if you keep dying and get resurected verata gets more and more minions

I noticed a couple things I wanted to mention
-There were a few points of pathing problems with collision. I would get "stuck" on a tree or signpost when I would click to run to some point past that item.
-Whisper in PvP. Names in PvP would add the number after names. When someone would type something into the team chat and I would click on their name to whisper back, it would try to whisper to "player name (3)" instead of "player name" and give me a message that said "player name (3) is not online".
-I would occasionally see my character momentarily port to the location of a monster I am attacking, then back en route to where he was running.

I also had the teleportation bug. As Ranger I'm normaly quit far away from the monsters, but suddenly I was standing in the middle of the pack right infront of the monster I was attacking. Happened 3-4 times on sunday.

In seared-Ascalon, when I bought druid's armor as upgrade for my character, had to be careful....it doesn't say druid's armor. It says "rawhide vest", which is a slight oversight because there is also a "rawhide vest" in there as well. Had to pay attention to the scope over and resource costs to make sure I got the right one. Regular rawhide vest had +6 energy. The druid one, that requires wood to make, had 8 energy bonus. All the rest of the druid armor pieces were labled as accordingly should be. Just the chest piece "appeared" generic in lable.

I am not sure if these are bugs or not:
The in-game windows wont keep their positions when you change areas.
You can buy Sacks and find Belts when you already have all of yours, but you cant give them to other people. And you can buy Runes of Holding even when you already have 10 item sacks. It would be cool if you could have Major and Supirior runes of holding too.
I also had problems with the Athea's Ashes quest.
The Shiverpeaks Stragglers quest is impossible too. Even when you have two healers healing the people full time. I dont know if they are supposed to die and the quest just dosent complete or what. The lady with the arrow is usually the first to die and if you rush to heal her, you have a ton of dwarfs on your tail pummeling YOU while you try to save/heal the stragglers.
I also noticed that materials from the Previous BWE wouldnt "Stack" on top of some items from the Last BWE. Like I had two stacks of Iron Ingot and two stacks of Hides and my some of my Dyes wouldnt stack. I dont know if those were because of Economy changes or what.
