Rune+1?

I've been using quite some builds lateley found off these forums and was wondering this. People put Swordsmanship+3runes+1helm. Ok I understand that but does 3 runes mean 1 minor, major AND superior of swordsmanship all compiled together? I tried finding this out on my own but then I saw the numbers and they were different from one build? Does the 3 rune specify minor, major and superior, or does it mean something else that I'm not getting?

A minor give +1 to swords, major +2, and superior +3. So what you saw is a superior swordsmanship rune with a hat with +1 swords.

Ok so like when it says Swordsmanship, +3 rune, that actually is saying to add on a Superior Swordsmanship? Ok thanks, I understand it now.

Minor, major and superior runes of one attribute don't stack with each other to provide a cumulative effect, if that's what you're wondering. You only get the highest bonus (in this case, +3 swords).
