Shouldn't sneaking in be easier (Ring of Fire)
Miss Innocent
Has anybody else noticed how the Lava Imps own the crap out of you, and how the Mursaat are so much easier? It seems like storming in the front gate ought to be harder, but it's SO much easier.
The biggest problem is too many imps at once, it a Dev wants to try to fix the problem. At least, I think it's the source of the problem.
What's everyone else's experience with this?

i agree, front door is a lot easier, though a few stubborn party members always decide to leave the second i agro.

same trick, take it slow, pull one group back to kill, repeat. interrupt, focus fire, move out of their aoe spells, and ward against ele will let you defeat them. mursaat lacks aoe spells so it is easier for most groups to deal with.

I tried that damn mission like 15 times trying to go around it, and almost made it on numerous occasions, but it's just too damn hard. Finally, I was like, "screw this". and went through the front and beat the mission... with henchies.

Fire IMps are a sweet and scary challenge, but really i like because of that. You need a good solid team to beat them. You have to slow it down, make sure you take them 1 by 1.

In my opinion, Ring of Fire is much harder than either Hell's or Abbadon. It's a real exercise in controlled pulling. I agree that after the imps. lava spitters, and assorted drakes and ettins, the Mursaat are easy by copmparison....
well, except for that Monk Boss....

He isn't hard, just long ... or you got some kind of interupt skill with you, then he isn't too hard.
Accolon Pendragon
Nothing takes longer than the Monk boss at Abbadon's Mouth. It's true that I did the mission with only henchies and I was playing with a monk and I had not equipped any smiting skills.
It's just that it took me over 10 minutes to actually kill it and that's quite a bit.

heh, how long did the beastmaster in norther shiverpeaks take you? Or had he already be 'tweaked' when you got there? 10 minutes was nothing, I beat on him for 20 minutes, even with interrupts.

Oh man, I can remember fighting the monk mursaat boss in Thunderhead Keep. Took at least half an hour since no one brought any type of anti-caster skills. We also only had 6 people. One left and the other wasn't infused so he would die 5 seconds after we rezzed him.
I forget how we eventually killed him, but boy did it take a long time.

You might be a noob if you read this topic and thought of the song by Johnny Cash.
I do look forward to facing the aforementioned challenges, however. Carry on.

Lava Imps are basically impossible with henchies as they aren't smart enough to move out of Meteor Showers. Of course PUGs aren't much better in that regard.
Going in the front gates is just orders easier than trying to work your way around. You don't have to worry about patrolling packs of Lava Imps, and one bad step pulling another pack that means almost certain death. Then there's trying to fight a pack of Lava Imps while in a pool of lava...hell, why would anyone follow the Vizier's advise?
Peace,

What's everyone else's experience with this? I cannot agree more... first time I tried this mission we got owned by imps meteor showering us as we moved through lava... ouch!
Next time we went through the front door... we took it slow but it was far easier. Mursaat are so easy once you are infused. They need some toughening up in my opinion.
