Question about vigor runes

I have a superior vigor in my chestplate, could I put a major vigor in my shoes or legglings, also is a major vigor +40 or +41 health, thanks

Only one superior rune works at a time, no stacking so you would just get the +40(41?). I don't know if it is 40 or 41, but all the descriptions say 40. And is 1 such an important difference?

Only the strongest effect of each type works, so you'd get the +50 health from the Superior Vigor and the Major Vigor wouldn't do anything.

The PvP Major Vigor rune is (was?) 41 health. I've never used a PvE Major Vigor.
