Well, I started out rushing me lvl 2 E/me to Borliss Pass, did the mission. Afterward, I found a group to walk to Beacon's Perch, paid 3k for a run to Droknar's Forge, bought my 1.5k armor and set off with another group to the Crystal Caves.
Orian did the mission with another group and got to the Iron Mines of Moldane. I got infused at level 8 and then set off to do the mission. Well, it wouldn't be that easy!
There is quitte alot of Levelism against low level players there. Doubtless, I could survive longer than most 20, aggroing W/mos but most groups wouldn't have him! And the ones that did seemed to be completely illiterate.
I led one group where everyone but two people in my party had died. Another warrior and I ran from the icey river all the way to the Seer's cave. The warrior died about half way in but Im managed to make it alone. After everyone was ressurected, we set off to take care of Markis.
It wasn't long before we got to him when one of our Necroes ran straight at Markis, setting off all the Jade Bows, all of which were flying at us and whiped out our party which was already fighting 3 mursaat.
After booting the Necro, we grouped a warrior and a ranger. After 1 try at the run to the Seer, the Warrior and Ranger suggested they get running skills. The warrior did pretty well, but the ranger was always far in the back and continuosly stopping and dying.
After the 7th try we finally made it to the seer. Our Mesmer left durring the cutscene. The ranger kept asking the monk "Hey, do you use heal area? No!? WHY NOT!? It's the best skill ever!!!"
Our monk kept asking a warrior about what the leet suffix "zor" meant. Not paying attention, he ran straight into a group of enemies. Our group stopped for a minute, looked around and then ran off toward Markis.
Frustrated, I yelled "HEY! Idiots, the monk is dead! Come back and res" They stop for a minute, come back and the rangers says "gosh, orian, i am sick and tired of your bad attitude". I say "Yeah, well I'm sick and tired of your acting stupid and running into stuff and falling behind."
Then she whispers me "u suck we die becuase of u everytime" I say "What? I even made most of the run by myself several times. Maybe if you stopped using heal area we could get somewhere."
Well, we start fighting the monsters that surround our dead monk, the W/mo keeps trying to res him but the Azure signets keep knocing him back. The ele is doing a good job nuking things but the ranger keeps using heal area, keep about 4 azures alive which quickly whiped out the ranger and everyone down to our prot monk henchie.
Yep, and that's my adventure as a level 8-9 henthmen in the southern shiverpeaks. Anyone else have any good ones?
(Btw, I capped the Mist Form elite. ;p)

what?
Gara
Do you want him to post it again, or would you simply like to re-read it?
Sam Katha
I don't think re-reading it will help...

I think the idea is that the level 8 character was playing better than the other people. The Heal Area thing cracked me up.
Ollj
heal area IS a good skill for ranged players, of course it sucks in melee
funny that in the shiverpeaks level 8 chars meed level 20 chars that should never have left pre searing.

Heartwarming story.
Minwanabi
Rather... anti-climatic. Disappointing, really. 4/10.

well, the story is amusing, and only proves there are still players thet don't know jack shit.
aside from that: donn't be suprised if your lowbie char doens't get invited. there is a good chance they get a lvl 20 elem, and they don't know you.

His story made perfect sence to me. Maybe I can just speak crazy?

There are diferences of a lv8 power level and a lv 20 power level.
A lv8 got there because s/he was rushed, sure its a 2nd generation character but have less energy, less HP, lower attributes, deals less damage and hits less that a lv 20 character and likely have less skills to chose.
Players want a 8 members team, not a 7 1/2 team and a lv8 in a lv20 team is a weight to be carried around in the mission, its simply not as effective as a lv 20 is, no matter how much "skill" the player have.
Besides in these days people can get "EBay gold" so there is the chance its a 1st generation character.

Phoenix sucks.
Speedy
Lol, note the level 1's guild is UPS. They ship her there?
Alderman Sweet
How can you be level 1 at Droknar's? I guess I don't understand rushing. Seems that just brushing past a level 24 monster would make a little xp rub off.

I'd think that just getting out of Searing would put you at least right up to the edge of lvl 1, but maybe that's just me...
