Charming Pets?

I was wondering say if I already have a pet and I just happen to cross paths with a better one that I would want to tame is there any kind of pet release command or am i stuck with the pet I have until I give to to the guy that gives it a better home? also if i do get rid of a pet of 10 and go charm the other animal will he start off where I left off or will I have to level him from his current level

you cannot dismiss your pet. you can unequip your charm animal skill, but once you reequip it, your pet will return. you can only permanantly dismiss your pet by going to jarrel the tamer.
when you charm a new pet, it will be at the level you charmed it at.

I would also like to add that your pet can gain levels, too.

I'm stuck at work so I haven't played the beta yet, but I did read that you can name your animal now with a command. That is so sweet! Of course, I had trouble enough coming up with a character name I liked . . now I need to find a good name for my kitty too, sigh.

Just wondering what command you use to name your pet? It is kinda boring having a pet which only have one name... 'Melandru Stalker'

if you read the latest fansite friday or the thread discussing it, you would have found that the command is "/namepet"
