In ashford city? Theres a guy preisty guy in the corner who will give you the quest in the catacombs. If it is taht one then go into the catacombs, and follow the guy that tells you to keep up. Have some healing spells handy cos there is swamp water there that will eat your health. After you will get exp and some spells. I think orison of healing?

You are right paramoreLoverSam2006. That is where you get monk as your secondary, in Pre-searing. But further, much further into the game you can change your secondary again, if you´re no happy with you original choice or if you wanna try another build for your character. That is what Akbar wants to find out, where you can do this.

The monk's passage quest, if memory serves me, is the one where you have to kill the scarab boss? That is in the northeast part of the desert. I don't remember where you actually get the quest.

Don't you need to finish dragons lair, then talk to Vanyi in Drok's, then get quest? I'm not sure, but that's how I have done it in the past.

You can change secondary before doing dragon's lair. My monk changed secondaries right after I beat my dopple.

Vanyi is in Droks just to bring your attention to the secondary changer peoples. She gives XP for visiting them though.
