Really Ugly Male Charcters Thoughout Factions

I know this has been addressed inconsistantly thoughout the other topics, but does anyone think the majority of new male faces hair styles and armors are some of the ugliest you could imagine? I understand the theme of the new areas of the game are asian, out of each class, there is perhaps only one that looks good in each.

Even the asassian male had much better faces before this beta. The female charcters look quite good. How about putting some more work into the male charcters and make ones people would actually want to use? Why would I want a necro that has a orange stuff coming out of his eyes and mouth with a foot high hairdo? Mesmers that look even more metrosexual than in Proficies? Monks that continue to have almost no hair and asian faces that aren't even good looking.

Though it may not be a big deal to some people, A big factor about how much I enjoy playing a charcter is how it looks. Please fix these terrible faces, hair and armors!

Im trying to figure out why anet always put male characters in dresses and skirts?

They're robes, I think.

the male asassian faces are excatly same as the last PVP beta...
I find most of the faces pretty good, espeically the monks, elementalist and asassian. However the male warrior i didn't like so much.
Most ancient eastern cultures wear robes. Calling them dresses and skirts is like asking why Elizabethan era Europe man wear pantyhoses.

Ugly doesn't bother me. If you can somehow come up with a male toon in Cantha that actualy looks like a heterosexual, that would be a tremendous improvement.

Not that I have anything against gay people, but really. Is there some reason every single possible combo for male toons in Tyria looks so unbelievably gay? And don't jump in claiming War's or Monks are any different, if you really believe that go watch Brokeback Mountain.

Why worry about them being ugly? It would be hard to make them any uglier than my Tyrian Necro (and only male toon) anyway.

The only ugly character is the one you make on purpose.

The looks don't really matter to me that much :\ I just love playing the game.

I dont think the assassins, rangers, mesmers, and eles look to bad. Although the male monks, warriors, and ritualists are kinda yuck.

so should area net just make characters that look tough? because what i got from that is thats what you expect. i personally think all the new charcters have a certain charm to them. if you dont want to be asian dont make an asian character its that simple. also monks in reality usually have no hair. mesmers are likened unto the rich and in asia thats how the rich dress. whether it looks dumb or not. and i think the necros makeup looks pretty cool, makes him look very dark. as for the "dresses and skirts" , read a history book. and as previously stated "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

I dunno, all the new Factions stuff definitely seems to be solidly more awesome than the old Prophecies visuals. All the faces seem pretty uniform, but there are far fewer that I wouldn't ever want to use than there were in Prophecies.

And all the new armor kicks ass. Going back to my prophecies characters... well they look kinda drab in comparison.

Edit: Okay, I'll admit a lot of the male faces seem a bit weak, but I was still able to make some fairly badass characters. I guess I just like the clothes more than anything, and the Factions textures are higher res across the board, which is awesome.
