Shiro Tagachi - His story

Well, ETSubmariner gives at least one explanation as to how that could have happened if he was acting for the good of the empire - he may have known the Emporer was corrupted and believed the only way to stop a disaster was to kill the Emperor, not knowing that he would then absorb the corruption himself. He may even have believed that the Emperor had gone evil naturally without supernatural influence.

Basically, the short answer is that he didn't know the end result would be the petrification of the forest and ocean, and that he considered the chaos from the death of the emperor to be better than what the emperor was planning.

I think he is just bad

Maybe there is a higher force that has put a spell on Shiro. That cinematic showed how Shiro's eyes made a shining light in the beginning. Watching it always gives me feeling that there was some kind of power controlling Shiro.

EDIT: oh and sorry to bring (or try) the subject back to the Shiro'ken, but did anyone notice in one of the faction combat trailers a green boss who looked extraordinarily like that picture of a Shiro'ken i posted back on page 1?

The return of the Lich Lord. Instead undead, he's a Oni and Shiro will remplace Undead Prince Rurik..... nahhhhhh .

One thing I can say, Shiro is not the great Evil in Faction. I'm sure of it, they're something behind this wars between Kurzick and Luxon. Something more than this war.

why is every1 saying that mursaat is jade? i though that jade was green.

Looks like more Bloodstonish/Rubish than Jade. And yes, Jade is Green. The reason, I dont know. Maybe a problem in name perhaps.

I wouldn't call Shiro a coward...he was brave enough to attempt to betray his emperor.

Outside of the game, Jade comes in a multitude of colors. I have white, black, yellow, brown and marbled Jade pieces I've collected. Green isn't the only color Jade comes in. I don't know what colors they use in-game other than the marbled green Jade Sea.

I still call it cowardly to cut down the emperor from behind..

Doesn't anyone think this is tied to the Undead Lich, maybe before he died he resurcected Shiro??

How to recharge the soul battery after that?

The material the mursaat use in GWP isn't jade I am leaning more towards obsidian rock.

I believe that Shiro, after serving the emperor for so long decided "Hey why can't I be emperor he is no different then me." So on the day of the celebration he decided he would be able to easily kill the emperor as only a few assitants were in the chamber with him. I also believe that he may have found some item, which as he killed people he gained their power. So as he struck down the emperor, the ritualists, and the many soldiers, he gained more and more power. He would have survived the day if he had not been suprised by the ninja's attack, and when he was finally struck down by his own blades all the power left his body, but as it did so, the blast was too powerful, turning the sea to pure jade and petrifying wood. Now in common Cantha the jade that is mined by the Luxon's hold's some sort of magical property which makes it extremely well to trade even though it is in high abundance. Perhaps, the jade hold's what power was left of Shiro.

i don't think shiro got killed at all, you'll see that the warriors didn't cut him up, he just made himself explode. He could of teleported out and got caught up in the spirit world and is coming back now perhaps

and on the factions pre order edition i think it showed him on a image and i think its him..... (he looks real old though)

The name who kill Shiro is the first mission in the Mainland (Vizunah or something like that). Check the info when you click on it.

The power Shiro had was acquired as he stole the soul of the emporer and that's what caused the jade wind when he died.

Ok, remember in pre-searing in the islands. You see a fortune teller telling him that he will sooon turn evil and slay someoen or if he doesnt he will be slain. Then after pre-searing, he coems back. The afflicted were made by Shiro. HE killed them and then these guys came out.

Shiro kills the emperor, because that FortuneTeller Woman (ooo, capitals for her) tells him, that he will die on the day of the Harvest (or whatever it was called ;P) and would be slain by the emperor. The FortuneTellerWoman tells him, that he would have to choose - either him, or the emperor.

before the Raisu Palace mission u see a cinematic with shiro following the emperor to the temple, getting mad with the voices in his head, and killing the emperor.

as for WHY would he die from the emperor, there IS NO explanation i could find. the FortuneTeller tells him, he will be a guy that will be legendary and ppl from 10000years from his death will know who he was.. but again, Anet didnt bother to think up something that makes any sense, so i doubt we'd see a real reason for the behaviour of Shiro..

if you wonder what shiro is doing in the Factions campaign, he raises an army of Shiroken and Afflicted, and storms the Raisu Palace, gets to the emperor, and tries to kill him again. Why? becoz he died becoz of the Royal blood, and so the only way to enter the world of living again, be made of flesh, is to kill someone of the royal blood, and use that blood for some spell (which again, is not really specified, TY ANET). i could add a coupla more spoilers, but i see no reason ;P

yeah about that, he is a boss. maybe u could have figured that out huh. im not tryin to be an @$$ but its kinda obvious.

he talks to this fortune teller who says to him "beware the harvest festival...the emperor will try and kill you."

shiro then practically cuts her in half. then she says "either you or him will die......you...or...him" then she dies which i found quit enjoyable.

at the top floor of that tower the words of the emperor and the fortune teller course through his head which makes him go mad and charge at the emperor and kill him

Yes, that Shirow of the past, has similarities with the tragic "celestial spirit" heroes. After all, he probably was a exceptional and loyal bodyguard, and would have remain such if it wasnt for that advice willing "friendly" seer.

Hai Jii, the Celestial Phoenix.-a talented painter from a family line of warriors, that despite having rejected using sword to be a painter -took up swordfighting to avenge his family -made a pact with Grenth so that the murderers would find no rest in the underworld

Tahmu, the Celestial Dragon. - a once genorous emperess that was forced to witness the destrution and torture of her citizens performed by Nagas, become enraged beyond reason & destroyed the Nagas as a celestial dragon (probably the area too, my speculation)

Something Suun says in Divine Path makes me think that the Shiro story is not yet over. While he may be dead, I think it fairly obvious that he was working for someone. Why do I say that?

• Shiro, an assassin, suddenly has the ability to cast immesely powerful spells.
• He also seemingly gains the ability to manipulate souls against their will.
• There is a possibility that the voices he heard in his head were not all from his head.
• Shiro suddenly knows what kind of spell he must cast to make himself mortal again.
• Shiro seems to have no logical reason to kill the emperor, or to try to ressurect himself once hes an envoy.

I believe there is only one situation that can explain this. Shiro is either working for or being manipulated by, a higher power. This power is clearly greater than anything weve encountered, since even his vassal (Shiro) had enough energy to crystalize a few hundered square miles upon his death. I think this is all leading up to something big. I think there is more to Shiro's story than what we have been told.

Vizu helped Viktor and Archaemoris (spelling) kill shiro, she and Nika are related.
Vizu was raised in Vizunah Square, when she died locals petitioned to re-name the square after her, Vizunah Square. i got that from guild wiki.

Alrighty, spoilers ahoy.

Shiro was a brave and loyal soldier, a talented assassin. Abbadon wanted Shiro as a general and so he sent a dark agent to Cantha as a fortune teller. She told Shiro his name will live on for a thousand years. He ignored her words, even after she told him fortune would come his way. Her words came true and he returned to her. This time, however, she told him that the emporer was going to kill him. He struck her down in rage, not knowing what she spoke was possessing him. With her dying breath, she told Shiro that the emporer was planning to kill him at the harvest ceremony. Shiro went insane and assassinated the emporer. He soon found his way into the Realm of Torment. And so, Abbadon ruined poor Shiro's life just so he would have a good general.

Now, this is what happens in the Factions cinematic:

As the emporer bows his head to recieve Dwayna's blessings, Shiro slays the emporer he was sworn to protect. The emporers soul energy is being drained and going into Shiro, making him even more powerful. Shiro kills the other guards, yet one escapes, sounding the alarm and sacrificing her life. The two kurzick and Luxon champions, Archemorus and Saint Viktor, rushed to where the emporer was slain. Even the two heroes could not defeat Shiro and soon, many soldiers lives were taken with only the two champions standing against Shiro. Vizu, a young assassin, heard fighting in the tower. She shadow-stepped behind Shiro, stabbing him in the back, crippling him and causing Shiro to drop his weopons. Archemorus and Viktor pick up his blades which they slay him with. As Shiro dies, he lets out a death wail that petrifies the forests and turns the seas to pure jade. The three heroes who bested him also perished.
