Need a second prof. for my ranger (want to own when i get to PvP)

ok well i started a ranger because i just felt like it i guess. now i need his second proffession, hes in PvE right now, i want him to be able to hold his own once he gets to PvP and especially GvG. should i pick mesmer or what? howabout R/N, thats an odd build, could have a lot of pets. just want suggestions please, no R/W, i tried it, hated it.

R/Me is one of the most annoying builds to fight against when played properly.

is it possible to have a build that utilizes pets to a point where they are actually a threat?

i know you said no R/W, but give it another chance. Pick up a hammer, add in tigers fury and a nice pet with Brutal strike, and u will find urself able to take down a target from full health to 0 without them ever getting off their backside.
Other than that, R/N was my first char, and i didnt really know what to do with it until later. Now i use virulence when i am condition spamming, its great fun, and sometimes i do touch necro, with touch of agony and vampiric touch (both have nrg reduced by expertise)
Either are a good joke. Other than that, i would choose R/W.
If Beast Mastery is your bag (it is mine) then R/Mo with Bal Aura, stick it on ur pet, and then chase that pesky necro round till he croaks, that never gets old.
As the post said above, R/Me is decent, especially when combining poison and conjure phantasm.
On the whole, u can change ur secondary later, and u can still make a decent ranger without using any secondary proffesion skills, especially interupters.
