Guildies told me to get on, so I thought I'd ride out the last few min of factions just to see if anything weird happenened.
Well, there was that huge funky dragon flying around and some strange shuriken guy killing everyone inside town.
Then we got kicked off cuz it ended.
Can anyone explain what this was?

it's basically an "end of preview" event. the devs spawned powerful monsters in the factions' respective capitals just to screw around with the players.
things like this happened during the last Beta Weekend Events during the Prophecies testing phases. gold would rain down from the skies and Gnomes that said Ni! ran around Lion's Arch, exploding at random.

this one was rather dissapointing compared to the gwens. in HzH, only 1 dragon spawned, and it was bodyblocked for at least half an hour. only the Shiro'kun warrior was killing anyone. i expected something cool to happen at the end, but no, the game just kicked everyone out. boooooring.

In ID1 people were bodyblocking the dragon and Gaile got mad because the end of the event never happened cause it was set on autokick at 12 AM PST.

Yeah I was there too. She threatened to ban people that were blocking it.

lol.........maybe they should have tested it out a bit better rather than threatening people from playing it a certain way

wait, that makes no sense, i thought you can't body block in the towns? I was in American Dist 4 when the dragon showed up and started killing people. I got killed, then when I got back, I was in American Dist 2, there weren't enough people body blocking the dragon, yet nothing was happening (the dragon was just hovering).
I went to American Dist 1, and it was the same thing. People thought they were body blocking the dragon, but I think they must've been mistaken, since collision detection is turned off in the towns...
Even if body blocking does work, I don't see the big deal here. If a baddie showed up in the town and the players can't use their skills to stop the baddie, it's ingenius for them to trap the monster via body-blocking... :P

if it was wrong to body block why in dist 1 on the us server did we get a mod telling us to all run to the dragon to stop him moving? The mods name started with a m but can't remember...
Also in dist 2 a light green text told us to dance nude, I have never seen the light green text before so not sure if it was a mod or not.

ALL things to do with Factions (Except the skills/runes/upgrades you have unlocked) will be re-set, your characters will be deleted, all Faction for either Kurzick/Luxon will be re-set, Alliance Standing with either side will also be re-set, the PvE will re-start...
Just like they did when GW Prophecies was released

I'm guessing you're referring to ID1 in the Kurzick town coz I was in Cavalon ID1 with a few guildies and the dragons were having their own way with everyone. I wish I could have been on the Kurzick side to see what Gaile said. She only sent out 3-4 messages in Cavalon. Screens anyone?

The best part of the whole video that was taken, was near the end where you see some doofus running flashing his rank 3 emote ... in a PvE area.
