Guild Alliance Standing Points
Zehnchu
What where your standing points at the end?
Kurzicks 128
Kurzicks 128
Phoenix Arrows
Kurzicks 496 (may be more than that)
Rask Finn
only 98 Luxon, and 40 of that was from me. We only had four people playing
SilentAssassin
luxon 128 (or around that)
Woutsie
27 and still decreasing
Kool Pajamas
0 and 0. I spent them all on jadeites before I logged out.
Had 10k Luxon and 1k Kurzick at one point.

I was 10k/10k for a long bit of the event... I was more interested in exposing the full map all the way down to the Harvest temple... and it was easier to do this with equal faction...
I did the kurziks first, and got to the grove to find NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE...
so I did the luxon side, and got through the nursery(with some help) to the leviathan pits. and got that side fully exposed for mapping. then played lots of alliance battles till some people showed up in the Grove FINALLY!!! and I was able to finish the Kur side map exploration all the way again to the harvest temple area... which was obviously locked out for the event cause it starts to load and kicked you back to the last town instead on both sides...
If this is true... then obviously the control of House and cavalon will be very much competed for on both sides. as well as the armory and the pits... for the 15k armor on both sides...
In any case after I got the entire map exposed (even managed to get into a northern keep through a map glitch) I played more faction battles... and wasted a little faction on allied points... I think our guild was only up to like 45 points for the kurziks side at the end.
I didn't have the foresight to do it early to see what control of a town actually does... Besides hanging the banner of the guild that is... I heard rumors that if your alliance controls a town it also meant you got significant discounts at that towns NPC vendors for stuff... can anyone confirm this?

Kurzicks: 198.
-_- It's gonna be a bit hard to rise at a fast enough rate to match the top guilds, because I have this power trip thing that makes me wanna be leader of our alliance. I'm not sure how to go about convincing all the r6+ guilds to join my n00b alliance. =P Even though I gather 198 isn't half bad, considering the small amount of people playing...

I'd like to control a town one day, but that would require my guild to play in Alliance battles more.

is there ne real perk in owning a city? like money or just some gloating rights?
Mandy Memory
There was no bonus in the FPE, but there will be elite missions (or something like that) for guilds who own cities.

Making elite missions only accessible to the people that hold it would effectly only allow 2% of the population to access the best stuff >=O

If they leave both missions outside breakers hollow (arena and transport) you can make 1000 faction every ~12 minutes as a w/r. Now say you have...idk...100 of these people playing 2.5 hours a day...and lets say they just 4k faction an hour. Thats 2000 standing a day. Own the best city.

Another question to pose, which there may be an answer for already, but, holding towns, is that permanent until someone displaces the current Alliance, or can an Alliance only hold a town for a limited time?
Mandy Memory
House was 800 at the end...but thats only because the Kurzicks were horrible (sorry...but the 4th best Luxon was above that)
Cavalon was ~2000 standing
And yes...its all going to skyrocket out of control within days
And to Eclair...I dont know.. But I doubt it.
Edit: back to Esprits extra question. They hold a town until another guild has more faction than them or until they have more for a higher town thus moving them to a lower town (or off) or to a better town. Standing decays over time though. So they must maintain their standing.

Kurzick: 963
Held House zu Heltzer at the end.
I wouldn't call us horrible we just didn't farm faction like so many of the luxon guilds did. We just had our guildys participate and donate whatever they happened to get and didn't wanna spend on armour.

I forgot to mention that our guild held a city (not sure if it lasted till end):
Keepers Of Light
Ludgaris Conservatory (spell check please)
We didn't really farm the faction...just happened to have it because we loved Alliance Battles. We had about 15-20 people doing Alliance Battles, so we got the faction from that. I never really bothered with the Factions PvE stuff, so I never checked that place out. Alliance Battles were fun though.
I just asked, and our guild leader says we got to 506. (Kurzick BTW)

Even so that still means that the top guilds will have access to these elite missions. And with standing sky rocketing the top guilds always raising the bar, even if it decays they still will be building up standing and keeping ownership. If that’s the case then yes a vast majority of players will never see these missions.
And congratulations to those who have a high standing.

People go on about top guilds but I dont see the reason.
TTA has NO entry requirements beyond a certain level of Maturity and being an Aus/NZer yet we held the top city of the Kurzicks at the end.

Mini games will evolve from this, guilds alliance will see how long and how many towns they can hold. Even if the limit bar is set at 2,000 standing as soon as other guilds hit this point take a town they would lose control almost immediately soon after.
I am not saying this is a bad, because I do like the idea of being able to control a town. But it’s the fact that there is and will be a large number of players who will never get to do the elite missions because they can not compete with higher rank standings.
I looked at Cavalon a few times over the two days it seemed that one guild held that city that long, (correct me if I am wrong)
Edit: But I don't mind the idea of giving say 1,000 -5,000 points to controlling guild alliance to be able to do the elite missions..
Linkusmax
Yeah your right, I don't disagree that many people will be locked out which I dont paticularly like. But guilds like Evil won't have the numbers to hold towns.
We intend to ally with other large guilds and hopefully have around 1000 players. Rather then being incredibly good I believe control will be determined by number of active players.

You guys do know that in the retail Faction game, this will be to Alliances and not to guilds.. So make that number X10 (10 guilds in an alliance) within hours after the release of Factions. That would make towns cost around 15000-20000 standing within the first 24-48 hours

The large guilds do get a distint advantage though...I mean...its hard to beat hundreds+ of people when you have ~100

Are they going to maintain the fact that your leader has to get to the capital of the chosen faction before you can start cashing in faction for standing? - running the guild leader through early cantha content ftw? The other thing about the actual release is while access to the faction content was open to all for the weekend not everyone is going to have bought factions in time for the first few days of guildwars game play. It could be that some in your guild may never participate in Factions but they did for the weekend.
Trouble with the weekend was that we don't know exactly how guilds got the faction they used to get high standing, how many active players they had, and how hard they worked to get their standing - and whether they can keep that up - it will degrade if they don't maintain it.

On your account now if you did both quests you have 1,000 points for Luxon and Kurzicks. So when you merge accounts those transfer over when you bring your characters over to Cantha I assume that you will start out at the Market Place with them. If that is the case then people who have the pre-order 24 hour head start will bring their characters over and play them getting the head start on FP.
2000 standing is 1,000,000 FP every 5,000 FP you get 10 standing I managed to get a little over 21,000 in one day, not playing hard core. Per-quest you gat any where from 250-1,000 FP and it is time consuming. But in PvP battles you get more and in less time. And there are a lot of PvP only people too. So for some Guild and guilds alliances maintaining standing won’t be all that hard.
But if it took 3 days for one guild to get 2,000 standing, times that by ten.

I have a question about the alliance standing points,
What causes your guilds alliance standing points to go down?
we noticed 2 small decreases during the factions event and assumed it was due to battle losses where members of our guild were playing or from guild members doing Kurzick missions (we allied with Luxon straight away)
But at the end of the FPE our guild had 267 alliance points that has since gone down to 216
Anyone know why?
Thanks

It decays ~10% a day (compounded every 3 hours)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the top Guilds may not be interested in Farming Alliance Faction for elite PvE quests...
I mean, I could be wrong, but won't the top guilds still be primarily focused on GvG?

I think the top GvG guilds will remain GvG guilds. But there will be other "Top Guilds"
Ensign
The 'best' PvP guilds won't hold cities, or even care really. Cities will be controlled by the largest alliances with the biggest presence. I look forward to seeing who controls the major cities - the biggest PvE guilds in the game have, at least to this point, been largely anonymous and it'll be interesting to find out who they are.
