(This is me venting my fustration)
I am vary upset with how much guild wars as neglected it's fan base of those of us who have spend Countless Hundreds of hours and GOLD for that matter perfecting our characters and we will not even be able to bring them into cantha... What a jip.. That should have been guild wars first Priority!!! Not "What new characters can we create.?" I mean I have no desire to continue with facters after this past weekend because it just wasn't the same as starting pre-searing..
This is the main reson why I will NOT be buying factions. My characters have every Skill and elite, Fow Armor, Best Gold and green weapons.. Why should we be left out of cantha right off the bat.. New charaters should START Pre-Searing and go through the WHOLE Guild Wars World. Not start in Cantha (though at lvl 1) and pretty much be at the same point as someone who has been playing since day one...
Please I say this is my issue, and I hope it is taken as such..
Why I will NOT buy factions...

You will be able to take your prophecies characters into Cantha through the port of Lions Arch.

I figured I should be a bit more constructive than my initial post was.
On top of what Stealth said, Anet has also stated that characters who've purchased -both- the Prophecies and Factions (assuming they're on the same account) can choose their starting homeland. In other words, a Canthian can start off in Ascalon, and a Tyrian can start off in.. wherever they start.

I think Lord_Zevan misunderstood that the "Factions Preview Event" is not the actual Guild Wars: Factions official retail release.
We can't bring our old characters into Cantha during the "Factions Preview Event", but we can do so when Guild Wars: Factions is official released on 28th(or 27th) April.
Oh come, don't miss out the fun. Join us on 28th (or 27th, if you pre-order) April.
Its just a misunderstanding.
No worries.
Cheers.
