I decided to try out the ritualist this weekend. At first, I felt it was a bit boring to summon and wait for long recharges and the damage spells weren't too impressive compared to eles. However, I decided to continue and unlock more skills in pve and pvp. What I've noticed was that the skills that destroy spirits were pretty powerful.
It was then that I started a build that focused on spirits with an hp losing effect to take advantage of using spells that kill them off when they were almost dead. I started using this build in the alliance battles and found that it was awesome support over large areas usually safely away from the action.
Ritualist
12 Spawning Power
12 Communing
3 Channeling
Boon of creation
Feast of Souls
Soul Twisting
Rupture Soul
Destruction
Union
Shelter
Displacement
I use boon of creation to be able to spam spirits forever. Soul Twisting is for spamming union by using it when union is almost gone. Destruction is a spammable spirit to power soul twisting or feast of souls(an awesome party heal). Shelter and displacement are used whenever and provide spirits for Feast of Souls or soul twisting when they're almost dead from their effects. Rupture soul is used for blinding warrior swarms and self defense.
The nice thing about these spirit destroying skills are that they can target allied spirits, like rupturing a soul right on the control point where the melee are gathered around or using feast of souls on leftover pain and other attack spirits left behind after a battle for a great 90 * spirit # party heal.
I found this type of ritualist really enjoyable to play and found it that it was fairly mobile by just using soul twisting and feast of souls to clean up old spirits to allow faster summoning somewhere else.
Any other's thoughts on spirit destroyers?
